Come on down to Charlottesville tomorrow! Were stocked with fresh sourdough, chicken, eggs. And all of our beef and pork items- we also have canned tomatoes, salsa and pesto!
Thanks for being here and your constant support! Almost 2 years on this journey! Still loving it!
Hello, Friends of the Market,
We have officially arrived at the Fall market season with our Fall hours. From now until April, we will be open on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
In the mornings, when there is a UVA football game, the market can become quieter closer to game time. Consider avoiding the traffic and parking search by coming after 11:00. Of course, if you need tailgate or game-watching supplies, come early.
The first Saturday of the month signifies Deep Roots Milling will be at the market with freshly milled regional grain and flours. The heavy rains and seasonal changes put an end to Wenger’s Grapes attendance; however, she still has Niagra grapes at their pick-your-own farm in Stewarts Draft, an easy drive. We are seeing seasonal changes in crops with plenty of apples and cider, winter squash, gourds, pumpkins, Indian corn, Chrysanthemums, and Dahlias. New vendors include Tillman’s Farm with pickles. Occasional or new-ish vendors include With Carrington (gluten-free baking), and Black Sheep Creations returning with crocheted items for cooler weather. Some unusual products include Thistlerock Mead made with honey from their flower farm, bee houses made by Mythical Makes, and Kossiwa’s Sewing’s hand-made dresses and clothing with African fabrics. Guatemalan weaving is presented by Hands Off Maria, along with traditional tamales. Not to be missed are Dutch Stroopwafels, by the Stroopwalel Sisters, with a delicate cinnamon and caramel filling, so good with coffee.
Let the staff at Market Central know if we can help you at the market to access SNAP and Fresh Match benefits, find vendors and products, or take suggestions.
