Meet Lady Samantha! She is the one that started it all and the matriarch of our herd. A local breeder offered her for consideration and encouraged the kids to start a breeding project.

Looking back, she was a gift! We were very naive about the high quality of her pedigree. Shortly after we got her the world shut down, and in-person shows were canceled. Lady Samantha was a ”senior” the first time she hit the ABGA show ring, and she won her division. She has also produced a Champion Bred and Fed market wether. 🏆

Meet Queen Zelda (a.k.a. Cutie Patootie)! She is a sweet curly-haired doe and a fiercely protective mama. She consistently produces well-muscled babies with wide loins and excellent confirmation.

We are thankful that the previous owner's keeper pen doors opened at the right time for us. Although her (SQ) enobled sire had a short life, he was a National Grand Champion Fullblood Buck.

After hanging out with “big kids” at our county fair, naturally, our little ones wanted to get mini goats. We started with Jane. Then she needed a buddy. Plus, what is a farm family without a dog and a cat?

This wonderful yet unexpected country life began in 2012 when we purchased a small piece of property in Northern California intending to enjoy the scenery and space to roam.

A couple of years later we hatched a few Lavender Orpingtons. Soon after, the kids were peddling excess eggs to our friends and showing fancy breeds with 4-H. Chickens are a slippery slope, my friends… 😊
