In operation since 1869, our Angus beef is raised in almost the same way it was by Sylvester Mendenhall at the turn of the century. We sell only whole beef, but are willing to help arrange for portioning, butchering and delivery. Due to the nature of grass-fed cattle ranching, our supplies are limited. We book our shipments many months in advance to better determine the needs of the community. We
are proud San Diegans and offer free delivery to anywhere in the county. Our beef cattle are raised on and fed 100% Palomar Mountain pasture grass, spring water and sunshine. They are never kept in a lot or pen. They are born in the pasture, live there and never leave until we arrange for butchering. As grass-fed beef is different than the fat-laden, corn-fed and feedlot beef found in most grocery stores, please familiarize yourself with the differences. We can arrange to grain finish cattle for an additional fee. Although this is not our preferred method, the end result beef will have a higher fat content. Our method of grain finishing does not include penning the cattle, and they will still be free to feed on a diet of roughly 95% pasture.
