What if one of the biggest problems in the cattle industry is that many of the “experts” have never actually made a living owning cattle?
If your house had electrical problems, would you rather hire an electrician who has spent his entire life wiring houses and making a living doing it, or someone who has only studied electrical theory in textbooks but has never actually wired a house themselves?
If your plumbing failed, would you trust the plumber who has spent 30 years crawling under houses fixing real problems, or the person who only understands plumbing from diagrams and classrooms?
In almost every industry, people understand that real-world experience matters. Yet somehow in the cattle industry, many of the loudest voices shaping breeding decisions, genetic trends, and industry recommendations have never actually had to survive financially from a commercial cow herd themselves.
What if there is a massive difference between studying cattle in controlled environments and actually depending on cattle to pay your bills in the real world?
Maybe if someone is forced to make a living by raising cattle, they learn to appreciate a different type of animal. The cow that raises a calf every year without any help, and maintains herself on grass starts to look a lot prettier than the modern “powerful” female that today’s industry is promoting.
