OktoberFest at Downtown Panama City is coming soon!
Happy September! It is time for one of our favorite annual Oktoberfest traditions: explaining why Panama City celebrates Oktoberfest in September. 🍺
The original Oktoberfest began in Munich in October 1810 to celebrate a royal wedding. In 1872, organizers moved the start into September to enjoy warmer weather and longer days. The celebration kept its famous name, because “Septemberfest” simply lacks the same oompah. 🎶
Munich still begins Oktoberfest in September, and Panama City has proudly celebrated during the end of September for 38 years. Your calendar is working perfectly. Please mark it accordingly:
