Making the most of our lovely weather this weekend! We planted over 2,000 pumpkin seeds, 600 gladiola corms, our sunflower patch, and more sweet corn and field corn. Let the germination begin! 💚

Planting sweet corn is our main focus this time of year, but a little Saturday afternoon mutton bustin' is always a good time! 😂 If you are interested in a half of a lamb in the early fall, let us know.

We beat the rain tonight, getting our 2nd planting in. We would have liked to plant more plastic covered corn, but we just didn't have enough time before the next rain. We will take what we can get this spring!

Our feeder beef arrived this morning. All 8 got off the trailer and made themselves right at home eating baleage. We will keep them in the barn for a week or so, until they are well adjusted to our farm and us. Next project is fixing the fences, the grass is close to being ready for them.

The weather finally started to cooperate. First planting of 🌽 went in yesterday and was covered today.

And we wait... The calendar is right, the temperature is right however it's too wet. Doing what we can while we wait for the right conditions to plant some corn.

Today is National Ag Day, and part of the larger National Ag Week. We humbly ask that you take some time today to think about where your food comes from. We are always happy to share what we do here on our farm and why we do it. We are thankful for David Munsee and his unending work ethic. We are thankful for our farm kids-they're a little different than non-farm kids-and we hope that serves them well throughout the rest of their lives. We are thankful for our friends who value the extra effort it takes to produce local beef, pork, eggs, sweet corn, maple syrup, and more!

I started to feel they left out the deep roots of farming in this country, but perhaps I was reflecting on the love of my own Grandpa and time spent with him...

Perfect morning to deliver beef! Outside temperature and freezer temperature were remarkably similar.

Winter vacation is over, Levi's Ladies are back to work! Eggs are available at Big Tree Maple , by making arrangements for pickup at the farm or local (Panama area) delivery.
