Our white grape varieties are soaking up every bit of the heat and sunshine as we inch closer to grape harvest. We’re in the vines each day but even more now as we are just 3-4 weeks away from the start of harvest season. We’re especially watching for birds, deer and various critters who can eat more than their share of berries. In the wine world there’s just one harvest per year so maximizing the fruit on the vines is top priority.
If you’d like to join us for a harvest experience, sign up for our newsletter at https://bit.ly/getsomersetnews. You’ll be in the loop on dates and how to be involved. No worries…we provide the instruction and tools you need. We start early when it’s cool, harvest for about two hours and then bring the fruit down the hill to the crush pad and celebrate with wine and lunch in the vineyard. Everything we do in the vineyard is done by hand so this is such an important part of how we turn the fruit from the vines into the wine on your glass.
We’d love to welcome you to vineyard life this harvest season and hope you’ll join us! 🍇🍷
