We raise Purebred Herefords of old school genetics, while adding the superior genetics of todays leading Sires We have beef and calves for sale year round
Founded in 1996 Scott always dreamed of owning and breeding Registered Herefords. After countless nights and weekends of searching genetics our search led us to the eighty year old bloodline of Neil Trask of South Carolina where we found our Ju
nior, our herd sire right here in Kansas where the Trask herd began over eighty years ago during the depression era. Juniorβs sire and dam were both fresh off the Trask Ranch in South Carolina, now owned by Bill Hathcock and Jerry of Alpine Herefords. Junior is also the only registered progeny of the pair as Bill and Jerry mainly produced commercial cattle. This gave us the beginning to start hand picking our breeding stock females. Over the course of the next year and with many visits to numerous breeders, we obtained six of the finest females for breeding. We intend to purchase two more this next year in 2015. We are also in the process of culling out our non Hereford cattle with the exception of our recip. cows used in our embryo program. Our intent is to preserve and use the exceptional genetics of the Trask bloodline as a basis in developing our herd. With the introduction of superior selected genetics from multiple other breeders and intense line breeding that will provide preservation of the Trask bloodline while selectively adding todays genetics. Kristaβs Myotonic goats were added about the same time as our Hereford Cattle. After quite a bit of research, we agreed Registered Myotonic would be the breed we raised. This was for their fleshing abilities, easier kept and entertainment as they are also the fainting ones. The herd has grown like breeding rabbits as we started with five and currently have twelve with four still yet to give birth. The goats should provide both a profitable and viable meat source. The goats are protected against predators by our herd Sir JR and three Llamas.
