The aurora surprised us last night… painting the night sky in soft color and catching its reflection in Matilda’s front windows. ✨🌌

Just one of those quiet, gift-like moments on the prairie—where the world slows down, the air feels still, and you’re reminded that simple things still matter.

Bring some delight into your daily life. Look up when you can. Let beauty find you.

The old saying 'if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all' can sometimes do more harm than good.

Kindness without honesty can breed mistrust.

Let’s learn to speak truthfully yet gently.

Because true love values both kindness and honesty.

We've been to the shelters and witnessed first-hand the good that is being done. These kids come from tragic backgrounds and now have more than just food and shelter; they have stability, love, and hope.

Please join Project Nic in their annual fundraising auction to raise the funds that feed, clothe, and educate more than 250 children who have lost their families in 7 shelters across 6 countries. You can participate from anywhere. Bidding opens online on November 2nd and closes on November 9th at the event. Don't miss the 50/50 raffle and the incredible auction items that have been donated by some very generous donors. More info can be found on the Project Nic website (I'll link it in the first comment).

Project Nic is a 501(c)(3) organization, and 100% of the funds raised go DIRECTLY to the support of the kids - none of it goes to US-based salaries and overhead.

We're thrilled to see Metro Voice Newspaper shining a light on Project Nic! Read more in the article.
