More Than Just Fried Rice

On Sunday, my two sons and I played More Holiness Give Me for Gordon’s farewell. ❤️ One of my favorite things as a mom is making music with my children and feeling the Spirit together through it. Every time we play, I’m reminded that music has a unique way of touching hearts, strengthening faith, and creating memories that last far longer than the performance itself. As I watched my boys play beside me, I couldn’t help but wonder—where did the years go? 🎶✨

We squeezed in an early Father’s Day celebration the night before our missionary headed off to the Provo MTC. ❤️

When it was Enoch’s turn to choose dinner, the answer was easy: Ramen Show 2 followed by Sul & Beans for dessert. Not exactly fancy, but sometimes the best family memories are made at the places that feel like comfort and tradition.

We’ve visited both spots before, and they’ve become two of Enoch’s favorites. Between steaming bowls of ramen, sweet treats, and lots of laughter around the table, it was the perfect way to spend one more evening together before this new chapter begins.

These little family outings always remind me that it’s not really about where you go—it’s about who’s sitting around the table with you. ❤️

A beautiful farewell for Gordon today! ✨ Seeing him stand up there and give his talk with so much maturity and confidence definitely made me emotional, but mostly just deeply grateful.
They say it takes a village, and seeing his village today was incredible. High school friends, elementary teachers, gaming friends, and family all came out to send him off with so much love.
We leaned hard into his mission themes for the food:
🥯 A Montreal bagel bar with pastrami and smoked salmon for the Canada Montreal Mission!
🥢 Chow mein and spring rolls because he’s going to be learning and teaching the gospel in Chinese!
Our hearts (and stomachs) are so full. We are so proud of you, Gordon, and can’t wait to see the amazing things you do in Montreal! 🇨🇦❤️

Sharing a lighter, more convenient approach to a classic Sweet and Sour Pork. If you love sweet and sour pork but want to avoid using a massive pot of frying oil, this is the method to use.
By slicing the pork thin rather than cutting it into heavy cubes, you can easily pan-fry the meat to perfection using just a minimum amount of oil.

Instead of cooking for my missionary yesterday, I went up to Camp Stimson for a Royal Dinner with the Stake Young Women! It was so fun spending time with the YW in our ward!

Soy Sauce Chicken is always a favorite with my kids, and curry is a staple in our home. 🍗🍛

Nothing fancy—just simple comfort food that brings everyone to the table. Watching my kids happily enjoy a home-cooked meal makes all the time spent in the kitchen worth it.

These are the flavors they grew up with, and hopefully the flavors they’ll always remember. ❤️
