Look at these gorgeous girls! If you want a bird that looks like it’s wearing a designer gown but works like a seasoned ranch hand, the Laced Wyandottes are for you. We’ve got both Silver and Gold Laced available right now, and honestly, pictures don’t even do those feathers justice.

Beyond the "wow" factor, these ladies are incredibly hardy. Whether it’s a Texas heatwave or a random cold snap, they just keep on trucking and laying those reliable, beautiful brown eggs. They’re the perfect addition if you want a dependable layer that also adds some serious curb appeal to your coop. ✨

They’re basically the fashionistas of the farm, but they don't mind getting their toes dirty.

Ready to add some lace to your life? We’ve got them available now at the farm, so come see 'em before they're all claimed!

Ever gone to grab an egg and it felt more like a water balloon than an actual egg? 🎈 Yeah, that minor heart attack comes for free lol.

Nothing kills the morning vibe like finding a "rubber egg" or shells so thin they shatter if you even look at them wrong. Our girls work hard to pump out those breakfast staples, and that takes a massive amount of calcium! If they aren't getting enough in their diet, their bodies actually pull it from their own bones to make the shell... which is a big "no thanks" from me. 🙅‍♀️

I love keeping a bowl of crushed oyster shells out for them to peck at whenever they feel like it. It's a total game changer for shell strength! And here’s my favorite little homestead hack: recycle those shells! I just rinse 'em, bake 'em for a bit to kill any bacteria, and crush 'em up to mix back into their treats. It’s like the ultimate circle of life, but for breakfast. 🍳✨

Do you guys use oyster shells or are you team recycled eggshells? Or maybe both? Let me know what’s working for your flock! 🐓

UPDATE: ALMOST SOLD OUT

If you aren’t a little bit obsessed with mossy green eggs, are you even a chicken person? 😂 Seriously though, our F4 Moss Olive Eggers are the ultimate "basket goals." We’ve been working on this line to get those deep, rich olive tones that make your daily egg haul look like a literal work of art.

But it’s not just about the aesthetics (even though we’re clearly suckers for a pretty egg). These birds have the best temperaments: they’re super chill, curious, and usually the first ones to run up and see what snacks you’ve brought. They’re basically the "best friend" of the chicken world.

Good news: we have some available right now! If you’ve been looking to add some serious color to your flock and a sweet personality to your coop, these ladies are it. Check the website or shoot us a message before they’re all snatched up! 🌿🥚

Check your birds! 🕵️‍♀️ It's time for our monthly mite check. A healthy flock starts with prevention. Make sure your dust baths are topped up with some food-grade diatomaceous earth or treat them with a product guaranteed to get them off your birds... keep those coops clean!

Let’s be real... naming a chicken is a high-stakes emotional rollercoaster. One day you’ve got a "Nugget" and the next you’re calling out for "The Honorable Lady Cluckington III" across the yard while the neighbors just stare. lol.

We’ve noticed a pattern in the chicken world. Everyone usually falls into one of three camps:
1. The Foodies (Waffles, Biscuit, Benedict)
2. The Golden Girls (Edna, Mildred, Gertrude)
3. The Punny Celebs (Hen-rietta, Yolko Ono, Meryl Cheep)

Whatever the vibe, it’s basically a law that the weirdest-looking bird gets the most dignified name. It’s part of the "controlled chaos" of homesteading and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

So, let’s hear it... what is the absolute funniest or most unique name in your flock right now? Bonus points if there’s a ridiculous story behind it!

If there’s one thing that turns my sweet, angelic flock into a pack of tiny dinosaurs, it’s treat time. 🦖

Seriously, the minute they see the "snack bowl" come out, all manners go right out the window. It’s like a feathered mosh pit out here! Whether it’s the classic mealworms (aka chicken crack), a cold watermelon on a warm afternoon, or just the random veggie scraps from last night’s dinner, they aren’t picky... but they definitely have favorites.

Watermelon is currently winning the popularity contest at our place, mostly because it's hilarious to see their little red "lipstick" faces afterward. 😂

I’m dying to know: what is the ONE snack that makes your flock lose their collective minds? Are we talking high-end mealworms, or are they more the "I will fight you for this piece of kale" type?

Tell me your flock's absolute favorite treat in the comments! 👇

Ever walk into your coop and get hit with that sharp, stinging smell? 😬 Yeah, that’s ammonia, and it’s basically the ultimate nemesis for your flock’s tiny, sensitive lungs.

One of the biggest "newbie" mistakes (we’ve all been there!) is sealing up the coop like a tomb to keep the birds warm. But here’s the thing: moisture and ammonia are way more dangerous than a little cold air. The secret sauce is the difference between a draft and ventilation.

A draft is a cold wind blowing directly onto your birds while they’re roosting, that’s a big no-no. Ventilation, however, is all about getting that air moving above their heads. You want vents or windows high up near the roofline to let the "stink" and moisture escape while your ladies stay cozy below. 🌬️🐓

Think high-up cross-ventilation! It’s the hack of the century for avoiding respiratory issues and keeping your coop smelling fresh (or as fresh as a house full of chickens can be, lol).

How do you guys handle your airflow? Drop your coop vent tips below! 👇

Nothing beats that "did I just find treasure?" feeling when you open the nesting boxes and see a full-on rainbow staring back at you... seriously, it’s like adult Easter every single day and I’m 100% here for it lol. 🥚✨

We’ve got the blues, the greens, and those gorgeous deep browns today and honestly, I still haven't decided which one is my favorite. It’s like picking a favorite child but with more feathers involved! Whether you’re team Olive Egger or you live for those classic cream tones, there’s just something so satisfying about a diverse basket.

I’m curious though, what’s the "star of the show" in your coop right now? Or better yet, what did your ladies leave for you today?

Drop a comment and tell us your favorite egg color! 👇

It starts with "just a few for the eggs" and somehow ends with a coop extension and 20 different names to remember. lol. We call it chicken math, and honestly, the struggle is real!

One minute you’re picking up two birds, and the next thing you know, you’re looking at incubators and "accidental" additions to the flock. It’s a slippery slope, but at least it’s a fluffy one.

I want to hear from you: how many chickens did you think you were starting with, and how many do you actually have now? Drop your numbers in the comments!

If you see your girls flopping around in the dirt and kicking up a massive cloud of dust, don't panic: they aren't losing it, they’re just hitting the spa! lol

It looks like total chaos, but dust bathing is actually the ultimate hack for keeping mites and lice away. When they wiggle down into that dry soil, it gets under their feathers and suffocates any tiny hitchhikers trying to set up camp. It’s basically nature’s dry shampoo but for poultry health. 🛁✨

We try to keep a few dedicated spots for them to dig, but let’s be real... they usually just find my favorite flower bed and decide that’s the "it" spot for the day. Chicken logic, right? 🤦‍♂️

Keeping a clean flock is way easier when you let them do the heavy lifting themselves. Plus, watching a chicken "land shark" through the dirt is easily the best part of my morning chore routine.

What do you guys add to your dust bath spots? Wood ash? Diatomaceous earth? Or do they just pick their own spot in the yard?
