An only goat is a lonely goat. Unless you have other goats, you will be required to purchase at least two goats. Two does or two bucks can live together harmoniously. If you only wish to have one buck or doe, a wether (neutered male) is the perfect answer for the perfect companion. If you only want pets, wethers make fantastic pets as they do not have all of the bucky characteristics that bucks are known for and you don't have to deal with the hormones of having a female. While there are exceptions to everything, for the most part goats are not happy as indoor house pets. Goats are livestock animals that are happiest when allowed to graze outdoors with other goats and enjoy the life of a livestock animal vs a pet dog or cat. We strongly advise against purchasing a goat to be an indoor only pet. We will not knowingly sell one of our goats for this purpose.
We have STRICT bio security measures in place. Therefore we will NOT allow visitors of ANY kind (not even friends over on holidays!) at any time. If you purchase from us you understand we will be meeting in a mutually agreed upon public place. We do NOT offer stud service and do not take our does to outside bucks. At this time we do not show in LIVE shows because we have not developed a bio security safety protocol that is practical for us yet. We DO participate in virtual shows with the MDGA with our Mini LaMancha's and Nigerians. We plan on participating in DHIR milk testing in the near future and are working to put protocols in place to insure adequate bio security is maintained. All new animals to the herd or those who are required to leave the premises for any reason, such as a vet visit, are placed in quarantine pens for 30 days. Items taken to other farms are not used on my farm again without proper sanitation (crates, clothing, shoes, etc.) This is just a sample of how we work hard to keep our goats safe as their health and condition is our number one priority.
We do keep a waiting list for upcoming breedings. There is no deposit required to get on the waiting list for the breeding of your choice. However, we ask that you please only ask to be on the waiting list if you are seriously interested in a kid from that pairing. Once the kids are born and I've decided what I will be retaining (if anything) then you will be notified in the order of which you are on the list. You will have 72 hours to respond before I move to the next interested party. Once all interested parties have been notified, the kid will then be placed up for general public sale. A kid cannot be held without a 50% non refundable deposit. Once you verbally commit to an animal, you have 48 hours to place a deposit on said animal. I prefer and accept PayPal for deposits. You can send it as friends and family or I can send you an invoice. By paying with an invoice, you qualify for PayPal's buyers protection. However there is a 3% fee which you will be charged for use of that service. I also can accept cashapp, Walmart to Walmart transfer, or postal money order (with a tracking number) for deposits. All balances are to be paid via PayPal friends and family PRIOR to delivery/pickup date or in CASH at pickup. No other form of payment is accepted at pickup. No animal will leave my possession without being paid for in full.
All kids under the age of 4 weeks old are to be picked up by the time the kid is 4 weeks old. Kids over the age of 4 weeks and adults must be picked up within 2 weeks of receipt of your deposit UNLESS prior arrangements are made and agreed upon by BOTH parties. Any animals not picked up within the allotted time frame are subjected to a $5 per day boarding fee for up to an additional 14 days. If your animal is not picked up at the end of those 14 days, you forfeit the animal and any monies paid toward said animal.
We reserve the right to retain any kid out of any of our breedings. We also reserve the right to cancel any sale for any reason at any time. If we cancel a sale, all monies paid toward said animal will be refunded within 30 days of the date of cancellation. If YOU cancel the sale for any reason other than breach of contract on our part, NO refunds will be issued.
You will be required to acknowledge the following sales contract at the time you place a deposit on an animal. If you do not agree with this sales contract and agree to sign it upon completion of the sale, I will refuse to sell to you. This sales contract is for your protection as well as mine. Please read it THOROUGHLY!

All wethers OVER 8 WEEKS will be disbudded (unless polled), vaccinated for CD/T, raised on cocci prevention and castrated/banded before leaving. All wethers UNDER 8 WEEKS will leave intact with instructions to have the animal castrated at the appropriate time by someone knowledgeable or to bring the animal back to me for banding after it is 8 weeks old. Animals will NOT be banded prior to 8 weeks of age due to the increased risk for urine calculi complications. No exceptions!
BUYER has the right to review current blood test results. We test our herd (every goat over the age of 6 months) every 6 months for CAE and Johnes and we have no history of abscesses on the farm.
Reservations require a non-refundable deposit (50% of total purchase price) accompanied by acknowledgment of this contract. BUYER understands they will be required to physically sign this contract at the time of pickup. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the sale with no refunds given. Deposits are non-refundable unless BUYERS reservation cannot be filled.

If the goat is not picked up within 14 days of the original agreed upon date, the animal will be relisted for sale without refund. Please be advised that there will be no refunds once a deposit has been received if BUYER cancels the sale for ANY reason.
SELLER reserves the right to cancel any sale at any time for any reason. In the event of that happening, the BUYER will be refunded all monies paid toward the canceled sale within 30 days.
Reserved goat(s) will not leave SELLER'S possession, for any reason, until full payment is received.
Any animals being picked up by anyone other than the BUYER require a Health Certificate in order to be transported across state lines per STATE LAW. If BUYER knows their goat(s) will require a health certificate, they are to inform the SELLER at the time a deposit is paid. Health Certificates will be arranged for by SELLER, and must be paid for by BUYER in addition to the reservation deposit.
POLLED Bred kids: We have done extensive research before choosing to participate in what HAS BEEN believed by many to be a "no-no" in goats. This is polled to polled breedings and with research you will find that the Intersex Syndrome (P*S) gene(s) is NOT linked to the polled gene. Polled goats and horned goats have an equal chance of hermaphroditism and it is NOT common!
ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
Upon breach of this AGREEMENT by one party, the other party shall have the option to terminate sale.
The laws of the State of Tennessee, County of Greene, shall govern this AGREEMENT.
