For the breeders in our community — this one's for you. The numbers speak for themselves.
Beaux completed the full Optimal Selection (Wisdom Panel) genetic panel — all 273 conditions tested.
Here's what came back:
At Risk: 0 conditions. Zero.
Carrier: Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) only — 1 copy, autosomal recessive. He is NOT affected, and because CEA is autosomal recessive, breeding him with any CEA-clear female will produce zero affected puppies. CEA carrier status is extremely common in the breed and fully manageable.
Clear: 272 conditions — including every major Border Collie health concern: TNS, MDR1, NCL5, early adult onset deafness, sensory neuropathy, and more.
Genetic diversity: 38% heterozygosity — right in the healthy Border Collie range of 32–39%.
Full documentation is available upon request.
His pedigree is equally clean. Beaux is registered ABCA #544156, DOB 9/29/2023.
Sire: BC CALLUM (ABCA #493634) — working lines with UK and Irish imports including IMP.BROCK, IMP.TWIRL, and IMP.ASTRA FLY.
Dam: MOIRA (ABCA #492244).
He's nearly 3 years old, intact, virile, and carries bloodlines with real depth. If you're building a responsible program and looking for a male whose documentation backs up his genetics, Beaux is worth a conversation.
We've known him his entire life. We can answer every question you have.
