WI******ER PLACE THOROUGHBREDS, LLC’S SUNSHINE FEVER FINISHES SECOND IN ALLOWANCE COMPANY AT CANTERBURY PARK
Saturday July 1 marked the comeback of SUNSHINE FEVER in Allowance Minnesota-bred company after nearly a year of rehabilitation. In her last race in 2022, SUNSHIINE out-distanced the competition winning by over 13 lengths. After that race, she was being aimed for a run in the Minnesota Oaks, a race which was never to happen for her. She became cast in her stall, pushed her leg through the stall wall and tore her leg down to the bone. Dr. J.C. Thielke at ANOKA EQUINE performed emergency surgery and put the leg back together. SUNSHINE spent several months rehabbing with Lisa Duoos, owner of DOVE HILL FARM. With time, the leg healed and SUNSHINE FEVER is back after a year of healing and rehabilitation. Any performance in this race would have been a hallmark for this 4-year-old filly. SUNSHINE FEVER has s***k and a very serious and stubborn outlook on life. We are hoping that will serve her well in the months ahead with her racing career. We are thankful for LISA DUOOS and the care she gave SUNSHINE and for DR. J.C. THIELKE for putting her leg back together. SUNSHINE FEVER was bred in Minnesota by Tony and Robert Bunting. She is trained by TONY RENGSTORF and was ridden by LINDEY WADE.
