Willow is home! 🐾❤️

She has a long road ahead as she works to regain strength and control in her legs, but she is every bit as determined as we are. Right now, she can get up with some difficulty and walk, although she is still very unsteady.

We want to thank Mineral Wells Animal Clinic for being so quick to get to work and for being so great with Willow and Angela Spotts (who was definitely very calm when bringing her in that first day)

The next six weeks will be focused on keeping her legs moving and doing physical therapy exercises. We’re hopeful this will help her get as close to 100% as possible.

We’ll continue sharing updates as she makes progress. She is already further ahead than we expected this early, and we’re incredibly proud of her!

**The Egg Pickup That Came at Exactly the Right Time**

It’s funny how things happen sometimes—how one small change in your normal routine can end up making all the difference.

I have a customer, Andrew , who gets a few dozen eggs from me every week. I normally leave them waiting for him in the farmstand, but Thursday morning I had to be at an eye appointment an hour and a half away at 8:00 a.m. With everything going on, I forgot to put his eggs out.

I messaged him and told him I would leave them near the house instead.

That same morning, Angela Spotts took the dogs out for a walk, and everything seemed completely normal. They came back inside, and then suddenly she heard Willow screaming.

It was a sound she had never heard come from a dog before.

Angela immediately jumped into action. She found Willow trying to drag herself across the floor, completely unable to use her back legs.

She ran to move the SUV as close to the house as possible. She was preparing to somehow get an 80-pound husky into the back of it by herself. Being the super dog mom she is, she would have found a way—but there’s a pretty good chance both she and Willow would have been injured in the process.

Just as Angela went to get the vehicle, Andrew pulled up to get his eggs.

He arrived at the exact place he normally wouldn’t have been, to pick up eggs that I had never forgotten to leave in the farmstand before.

Without hesitation or question, Andrew ran into the house with Angela. Together, they got Willow safely into the SUV and headed to the veterinarian immediately.

Today, Willow is trying to take steps.

With spinal injuries, timing is everything. Even a short delay could have changed her outcome completely. Somehow, everything aligned exactly when it needed to—the forgotten eggs, the changed pickup location and him arriving at that precise moment.

Sometimes the things that feel like mistakes may actually be putting someone exactly where they need to be.

We still have a long road ahead of us, but seeing Willow trying to take those steps today has given us so much hope. We are incredibly thankful for Andrew Clark , for his perfect timing and for the fact that he didn’t hesitate for even a second.

Has anything like this ever happened to you—where a strange coincidence or change of plans ended up happening at exactly the right time? I would love to hear your story.

Edit: They are going to a good home!
Anyone able to take 3 Oliver egger pullets off my hands. I tried giving them to a broody hen but she rejected them. They are from tractor supply so a very good chance they are females.

Change of plans! We will not be at the farmers market today Aug 13th. We will be back once it opens again after the fair.
Please accept this picture of our smallest ever chicken egg as consolation.

Tomorrow, August 13, is your last chance to visit us at the farmers market before we take a two-week break for the county fair!

If you’ve been wanting to grab something from us—or any of the other great vendors—tomorrow is the day!

We’ve restocked our Dilly Beans and Sweet Heat Pickles, and we’re bringing some delicious new creations:

🍍 Tropical Cowboy Candy—made with pineapple and officially my new favorite!

🍑 Buzzin’ Berry Peach Jam—our new peach jam featuring local blueberries from Clear View Farm and local honey from Purrfectly Homemade.

🍯 Hot Honey Cowboy Candy—a sweet-and-spicy twist also made with local honey.

Come see us tomorrow and stock up before the break! We will have some Okra and our fresh farm eggs as well.
