Shhhhh. The bumblebees are sleeping. Picking flowers at dusk can be an adventure if you accidentally wake up the bees. A few minutes before this I bumped a stalk of celosia with a sleeping bee on it and he wasnā€™t happy about being disturbed. Silly bees. šŸ

This is what happens when you plant breeder zinnia seeds. šŸ˜ So many multi-colored blooms. Do I know which blooms came from which pack? No. But I donā€™t care what the names are, just that they make beautiful bouquets. ā˜ŗļø Seeds purchased from Lynn Byczynski, Basket of Flowers Farm, Erin Benzakein - Floret and Seed Cult

Itā€™s countertop and table refinishing week. This project was about 2 years overdue and would not have been possible without a good friend who helped me do the hardest part - sanding off the poly coat. Today Iā€™ve been going back over everything with a finer grit and got started on the table. Next up: clean everything. Then Iā€™ll be able to start the process of sealing everything with a mixture of linseed oil and beeswax. No more poly!

Score! Iā€™ve been wanting to try some curcuma and Home Depot had these on clearance. Iā€™ll plant them and see how well they come back and hopefully bloom again next summer for use in bouquets. Yay for 50% off!

This week a sweet young man asked a girl to be his girlfriend and gave her a bouquet made from all these pretty flowers. These kinds of custom orders make me smile.

Looks like we are finally going to get a couple of days of rain, which means there will be time for coffee on the porch! Starting right now.

Yā€™all, check out this absolutely precious fall arrangement my girl made for me. I love all the textures she added with the sticks, pine needles, and seedheads.
