New batch of Run Club is here just in time for some warm weather. This 3.8% crusher is packed with electrolytes and dosed with some Calamansi. For those that don’t know, Calamansi is an Asian citrus that looks like a lime on the outside and an orange on the inside. Flavor follows suit. It’s easy to delete a few of these after a bike ride that’s for sure. We’re not allowed to say they’re good for you but they’re not, not good for you….

The next Just Me is here. Our single hop pils series named after the interaction we all have on the trail when you run into someone and you’re both solo. “Just Me” “Just Me”. This one features Crystal hops grown by our great friends from . These hops display a beautiful citrus character along with a little underlying spicy/floral note. Mostly Idaho grown Pilsner malt was used in this but a single decoction still gives it some euro lager vibes.

Divi returns. As always we’re constantly tweaking recipes based on new ingredients and/or processes we come across. Even those this was our first GABF gold medal that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved upon. For this batch we subbed out the Citra in the dry hop for that new hotness, Ramosa. We’re really liking this hop and think it has more potential than anything we’ve tried recently. The Ramosa/Krush/Nectaron hop combo coupled with the Tropics yeast delivers more tropical fruit expression than we’ve been able to accomplish to date. Hope you dig it, we do.

Fistful Of Death
Modern West Coast IPA

Cold & Damp is a new West Coast L IPA brewed in collaboration with our good friends at Level Crossing and Omega Yeast. Every September during hop harvest we brew our Damp series of fresh hop beers. These beers capture the essence of freshly picked hops and are usually only available for a short period of time each year. However thanks to some innovations in hop processing we can now brew beers all year long that display that unique fresh hop character. For Cold & Damp we started with some new experimental whole cone hops in the mash and Hopback like we would during harvest. We used a brand new variety from Jackson Hop Farms that doesn’t have a name or number and only 70lbs of it exist. We then dry hopped with Cryo fresh frozen Mosaic & Krush as well as some Nelson Fresh Pressed Hop Juice from Freestyle Farms in NZ . This hop juice is extracted from freshly picked wet hops before they’re kilned and really expresses the bright, green character of freshly picked Nelson. Something we’ve never experienced before. The end result is a crisp and somewhat clear 5% IPA that exudes fresh hop character. There’s a nice blend of dank, herbaceous aromas and bright tropical and citrus notes. Fitting that it was snowing during the brew day for this beer.

Fistful Of Death is the third beer in our series of Modern West Coast IPAs that takes inspiration from some of our favorite Spaghetti Westerns. Each one uses a blend of NZ and North American hop varieties to create flavors and aromas typically found in newer hazy IPAs. Lean and crisp with only a slight amount of hop derived haze, Fistful of Death showcases Nectaron from New Zealand and a brand new hop from the Pacific Northwest called Thora. Combined with a little Simcoe these hops have created some really exotic flavors we’ve maybe never experienced before. Bright stone fruit, and unique almost overripe tropical fruit, combine with notes of white grapefruit and black current with a little bit of resinous pine. It’s very unique and unlike other beers we’ve brewed before.

DFWH So Out It’s In
Wet Hop West Coast IPA

Available starting today for can pours only is a very small batch of Double Frozen Wet Hopped So Out It’s In. Remember during harvest when we’d make those limited, one off kegs, of wet hop beers for the taproom? And how much you loved them? Well we saved some of those frozen wet hops from harvest and decided to do a very small run of So Out It’s In that we’ve had squirreled away. We added 12lbs of frozen wet whole cone Citra and Simcoe to one keg. Left it overnight to extract all that cool wet hop character and then canned it off the keg.

If you remember the beer was originally dry hopped once with Cryo fresh Krush, Mosaic, and Citra and then for this we essentially added another “dry hop” of frozen wet whole cones. So you could call it a Double Frozen Wet Hop version of So Out It’s In. This second dry hop adds that really unique cucumber/watermelon rind you only get when dry hopping with whole wet cones as well as an elevated layer of herbaceousness and texture. It’s really unique and rare to experience this character outside of the harvest window.

Due to the volatile nature of the frozen hops and the manual canning process we’re only serving these as can pours in house this weekend and there’s only a few cases so get here to try this rare treat.

Happy Cinco de Mayo & Happy 1st Anniversary to

El Provo
Mexican Lager

Introducing El Provo. A Mexican Lager we brewed for to celebrate their first anniversary. Instead of taking the easy route and using some flaked corn or even corn syrup like the big boys we decided to do a cereal mash with some corn grits for this beer. Our brewhouse has the ability to do it so we figured why not. Cereal mashing entails mixing unmalted grain, in this case corn, and boiling it with a small amount of malt and then combining that with the rest of the mash. This method converts the starch in the unmalted grain into fermentable sugars. However it also adds a depth of flavor and complexity. This is a very simple beer but we wanted to give it a little more flavor than your standard industrialized version. A small late addition of some Crystal hops from OR give it the faintest hint of lime as well. Stoked on how this turned out. Look for a cereal mashed rice lager here in a few weeks.

You can find this at all Slackwater locations. We have one keg of it here and a limited number of cans. Get it while you can.

NZ IPA

Available Today!

It’s been a minute for this one, and no clue why it took us so long to brew it again. All Black Nothing is our 7% (used to be 6.5) NZ IPA. It was the first “high point” IPA we ever brewed way back in 2021 and has been a favorite all along. For this batch we went back to the original hop combo we used for batch 1, Nelson, Riwaka, and Southern Cross.

Southern Cross might not be a hop you know well but it’s a hop that can do a lot of heavy lifting and when we smelled this lot sample from we knew we needed to brew with it. It had this really bright lemon/lime soda character when rubbing it. But it’s also really high in this one compound that can contribute a lot of apricot flavor to the beer. This Riwaka is also unique. It’s an early harvest lot from , the Riwaka whisperers. It also gives off a lot of vibrant lime and citrus notes. Coupled with some late Harvest Freestyle Nelson and Tropics yeast we get huge tropical, lime, and candied stone fruit flavor. There is a nice structured bitterness and a little spice to balance everything out and make this hop saturated sweetheart really drinkable.

You hear us say it all the time but hops from New Zealand truly are amazing and unlike anything else. This beer really showcases their unique and vibrant character. We love it and we hope you do too.

will be here today slinging some rad BBQ and the To Go cooler is busting at the seams with 16 different options from 3 month lagered malty lagers to modern hop saturated Double IPAs.

We’ll have some new beers canned earlier in the day available and the last vestiges of winter look to be over by then.

We’re still working on a plan for group rides and what not for future Thursdays but we’re still a few week away from announcing that so stay tuned. If you happen to be out riding your bike this Thursday please swing by afterwards for a refreshing beverage and some maintenance tips!
