Don’t miss these amazing astronomical events in June 2026!

June 9: Venus and Jupiter appear side by side after sunset.

June 12: Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter form a bright evening alignment.

June 15: Mercury reaches its best evening visibility of the year.

June 17: A crescent Moon joins Venus and Jupiter; some regions see a Venus occultation.

June 29: The Full Strawberry Moon shines near Sagittarius’s Teapot asterism.

28 to 29, Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower. produce up to 20 meteors per hour at its peak.

Gamma-ray bursts are the universe’s most powerful explosions—releasing more energy in seconds than our Sun will emit in its entire lifetime. A sufficiently powerful gamma-ray burst could devastate life from thousands of light-years away, making these cosmic events as fascinating as they are terrifying.

😍Get ready to witness one of the most beautiful naked-eye celestial events of 2026.

On the evening of May 20, a thin crescent Moon will pass close to Venus and Jupiter in the western sky, creating a rare triple conjunction that will form a stunning smiley-face pattern.🤩

To witness this beautiful alignment, simply look low in the western sky after sunset on May 20.

A full day on Mars: captured by NASA’s rovers and landers.

From a quiet sunrise at 5:30 a.m., through dusty Martian noon, to the rare blue sunset and the stillness of night, this is what a sol on the Red Planet looks like.

This sunrise was imaged by NASA’s InSight lander on Sol 145 (April 24, 2019) using its robotic arm camera. A reminder that even on another world, every day begins with light.

The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) has produced one of the largest 3D maps of the universe by measuring the positions and distances of tens of millions of galaxies and quasars. By mapping how these objects are distributed across space and time, scientists can trace the expansion history of the universe and investigate the nature of dark energy, the force driving cosmic acceleration. The map also reveals large-scale structures like cosmic filaments and voids, helping researchers better understand how matter—including dark matter—shapes the universe’s evolution and overall structure.

The Lyrids meteor shower peaks April 22–23, producing about 15–20 bright meteors per hour under dark skies . Best viewing is after midnight to dawn, when the sky is darkest and the radiant in Lyra is higher .

Tips:
Find a dark location, let your eyes adjust for 20–30 minutes, and look slightly away from Lyra for longer streaks. No telescope needed—just patience and a clear sky.

Wormholes are hypothetical tunnels in spacetime predicted by Einstein’s General Relativity. They could connect distant points in the universe, acting as shortcuts. Instead of traveling vast distances (like 10 light-years), a wormhole could reduce the path to something much shorter, allowing fast travel without exceeding light speed. This means you reach destinations quicker by shortening distance, not increasing speed. However, no experimental evidence of wormholes exists yet, so they remain a theoretical idea.

👉Quantum entanglement is one of the strangest phenomena in physics. It happens when two particles interact in such a way that their properties become inseparably linked. From that moment on, they no longer behave as independent objects but as parts of a single shared quantum system.

What makes it mind-bending is that this connection holds even if the particles are separated by vast distances—even light-years apart. If you measure one particle’s property, like its spin, the other particle’s result is instantly determined.

This doesn’t mean information is traveling faster than light, though. The outcomes are random, and only when results are compared do the correlations appear. So while entanglement cannot be used for faster-than-light communication, it shows us that the universe is far more interconnected than our everyday intuition suggests.

Einstein famously called it “spooky action at a distance,” and today it’s at the heart of quantum computing and quantum communication research.
