Here at Merrell’s Nubian Goats we work hard to get young goats ready for the show ring. It is never too early to begin their training. The harder you work them, the more they respect you. It’s important to show them no mercy at an early age so they understand who the boss is. It’s important for them to know boundaries and understand your high expectations of them. Or…we do none of those things and just let them nap in our laps.

Burn pile day! It feels so cleansing. Junie B the barn cat is sharpening her claws to help out. She goes after vermin living in the brush pile.
Barn cats are worth their weight in gold and then some!

With this crazy Oklahoma weather, all the barn chores, chicken coops upkeep, and all the goat births I have had little to no time to deal with the vegetable & herb garden.
I stole some quiet time away on this cloudy Sunday morning to peek in at the garden. 🥰
I found a few treasures hiding in there ready to be claimed! Dill, Lemon Basil, Japanese Parsley, Asparagus, Pickling Cucumbers, Squash, Banana Peppers and Korean Tomatoes. Thank you Garden!

🍳 Breakfast Idea for your eggs 🍳
12” Italian bread coated in butter and baked at 350 for 10 minutes. Sliced avocados, medley of pepper jack, provolone, and cheddar cheese, grilled onions, dash of garlic seasoning salt, dash of Italian seasoning, and eggs sunny side up.
DELICIOUS!

Dave & Jack are headed out to Neosho Missouri today with a few of the Nubians to try out in the show ring. Jack has done an incredible amount of work getting the goats show ready, packing the trailer, and doing all the paperwork! Wish them luck! Fingers crossed that Jack’s dogged determination and hard work pays off this weekend!
