Blossoms are very delicate at this stage and can be damaged by cold exposure.

That layer of snow helps insulate and protect, almost like a blanket!

We kept the wind machines off so we wouldn’t knock that protection away.

The quiet of winter doesn’t last long out here.
It gives way to the hum of bees in the blossoms, the sound of tractors moving through the rows, ladders and loppers clanking, and birds filling in the rest.

Ever wonder what’s happening in the orchard when the trees are bare?
Winter pruning is one of the most thoughtful jobs we do all year. ✂️

Each tree is looked at individually—deciding which branches to remove, which to keep, and how to shape it for the seasons ahead.
Good pruning helps balance growth and fruit, improves airflow and sunlight, and keeps the tree healthy long-term.
What looks like simple cutting is really years of experience and a lot of intention, all for better fruit next season.

Can’t get enough? Neither can we 🍎

We’re happy to take orders for pickup at our Parkdale warehouse (located on the same property as the fruit stand). We’ll have your order packed and ready—payment when you arrive.

You can also find our fruit at the PSU, Hollywood, Oregon City, and Montavilla farmers markets. Orders of 22 lbs or more can be placed for pickup at any of these markets.

We’re extending our Fruit Stand season for at least another week. There’s still plenty of delicious fruit to enjoy, along with our jams, cider, and other goodies.
