Lavender bloom update from the farm!

We’re getting closer and closer to peak lavender season, especially for our Angustifolia (English lavender) varieties. Their color is really starting to show, and in just a few weeks the fields will be looking even more beautiful.

So… can you tell which lavender is which?

Angustifolia - English Lavender (sweet fragrance - culinary uses and more)
• Shorter stems
• Blooms are more separated along the stem

Lavendula X-Intermedia (earthy fragrance - used in skin products and sachets)
• Taller stems
• Blooms are packed tightly together with little to no stem separation

Come by Saturday and see for yourself. Gently caress the stems and release the relaxing essence of it's fragrance while enjoying artists creating their beauty on canvas.

Join us June 27th for a very special Plein Air painting event featuring members of the Parker Artist Guild as they capture the beauty of Pollywog Station Lavender Farm on canvas.

There is something remarkable about watching a painting emerge from a blank canvas. See how artists interpret the colors, light, and character of the farm while working outdoors in real time.

Visit with the artists, observe their techniques, ask questions, and experience the creative process up close. Space is limited for this free community event. Register today.

Have you visited our lavender farm before the lavender is in full bloom?

One of our recent guests did, and here's what they had to say in their 5 star google review:

"We visited very early during the growing season and still had a great time at this lavender farm! We learned about the history of the farm through a fun treasure hunt that led us throughout the property. They also had a native plant scavenger hunt! The lavender lemonade was delicious too :)"

We loved hearing this because there's so much to experience on the farm besides the lavender fields!

Take a walk through history at our 1884 homestead, test your detective skills on our treasure hunt, discover Colorado native plants, watch the bees hard at work, enjoy a lavender lemonade, and simply soak in a little peace and quiet.

And now we've added our new Mini Tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:15, 10:15, and 11:15! In just 20 minutes, you'll learn about lavender growing, harvesting, honey bees, local history, and the conservation projects happening around the farm.

The lavender is growing more beautiful every day, and we'd love to share the journey with you.

We are incredibly honored to be featured in the Parker Chronicle!
What began as a dream has grown into something much bigger than a lavender farm. Our mission has always been to create a place that supports wildlife, pollinators, native plants, local history, and, of course, produces an amazing lavender crop for our community to enjoy.
None of this would be possible without the support of our friends, neighbors, visitors, and volunteers who believe in what we're trying to accomplish here at Pollywog Station . We are truly grateful.
A special thank you to Haley from the Parker Chronicle for taking the time to visit the farm, learn about our vision, and share our story with such thoughtful and meaningful journalism. We are honored by the article and appreciate your support more than you know.
Thank you, Parker, for helping us grow something special together.

Did you know you can actually see how we de-bud our lavender during our farm tours?

We still have a few spaces available for our June 23rd Farm Tour. We'll demonstrate how we harvest, dry, and de-bud lavender, the process that separates the fragrant buds from the stems and prepares them for many of the products you enjoy. It's one of those simple but fascinating farm tasks that helps tell the story of how lavender goes from field to finished product.

You'll also have the opportunity to:
Walk through our lavender fields
Visit our honeybee apiary
Explore our native plant demonstration garden
Learn about our 1884 Reynolds Homestead
Enjoy our scavenger hunts and scenic trails

And, try a sample of our yummy lavender lemonade and shortbread cookies! It's all part of the farm tour!
