I need to update those of you who haven’t been part of our daily chaos for the past couple of months: we’ve moved to Colorado. The goats and chickens have stayed with the new property owners, so our farm is on an indefinite sabbatical. We will see what someday brings our way. Meanwhile, the kitties are beginning to adjust to their new indoor life, because we just couldn’t part with them.

This year’s batch of chicks is all grown up and laying now. So combined with the existing layers, we are collecting an average of a full dozen eggs EVERY DAY! I was catching up on checking and packaging this week’s eggs tonight, and I came to the realization that we have more than we could possibly eat ourselves. So who needs some eggs?!

Four new batches of soap ready for release! I played with swirling for the first time, using charcoal and rose hip powder for the contrasting color bases, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! And of course I had to make new batches of the favorite single-scents of lemongrass, lavender, and peppermint. The batches I released in February were all purchased before the month was out, so speak up quick if you want some of these!

Happy spring! We got another bouquet of asparagus today, and they are getting bigger each time they emerge! In other news, do you know where radishes come from? There are fluffy little windup toys on the farm again and it makes everything feel cheerful! I decided not to wait until summer for a hen to hatch some eggs (though that will still happen later) and I went ahead and bought new chicks this week. I had fun getting some nice glamour shots, and though I ended up with several blurry photos, I am really happy with the ones that came out clear! Enjoy the fluffy cuteness!
