Well, we have the vent hood installed and now it needs the be hooked up with the fire suppression system. Plumbing work is done too so that’s 2 big items off of the list since our last update.

I know many of you are frustrated and wondering what’s taking so long- but there are just a lot of to dos when you try to convert a 100 year old building that was office space into a restaurant and candy production area! When you try to do as much of it as possible DIY it’s a long journey.

Please know we are working 7 days a week, as many hours as we can, to get this project completed. We want to be open! We appreciate each of you for standing by us and supporting us on this journey. We can’t wait to be serving you again! Keep watching for updates!

Many of you have asked when we are opening the Market St. location. We apologize for not answering but we just don’t have an exact date. We had planned on opening the last of August but we have some work that must be completed by a licensed specialty contractor that we are having trouble getting done. In particular we need a vent hood with fire suppression in the kitchen and some plumbing work but the vent hood is the big obstacle. We are finishing the cosmetic changes ourselves but cannot get approval to open without these things being completed by approved contractors. We will update when we know more. We are doing all we can to wrap this project up and get back to business! Thank you for your patience and continued support.

We want to offer out deepest condolences to the original Rubin’s family on the passing of Naomi (Momma) Rubin. We know she played a primary role in the popularity of Rubin’s and was loved by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

Naomi Rubin Naomi Rubin, 92, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Wednesday August 5, 2026, at Eagle Pointe after a long battle with dementia. Sneak peek following up on Jamey’s video from last week- can you envision the dining room for the deli in this space? These pictures were taken right after we pulled up the carpet and took down some walls. It’s the same space from different directions.

As one chapter ends, another begins! We closed on the sale of the property last Friday. You may have seen the new owners already working on the building. We wish them the best on their new business. Doesn’t the sign look great at the Market St. location?
