The raw unfiltered version of how today went & a real testament how farming goes. Today tested us. Equipment didn't cooperate. The rain found us before we were ready. Luckily it didn't last long. Tempers flared. There was plenty of yelling, frustration, and moments where we wondered if we'd ever get finished. But we did it.
Being a farmer's wife isn't easy. You watch the stress, the exhaustion, the weight of every decision, and sometimes you're right there in the middle of it all, doing whatever needs to be done. And being the farmer? That's even harder. The responsibility never shuts off. The weather doesn't care about your plans. The equipment doesn't care how tired you are. The work has to get done.
Today wasn't pretty, but it was real.
We finished the hay, and despite everything that went wrong, we'll wake up tomorrow, go to work, come home & do it all over again if that's what the farm needs.
This is farming. It's messy. It's exhausting. It's frustrating. But it's also something we're incredibly proud of.
Now... if you'll excuse us, we're going to enjoy a well earned shower and some sleep.
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day. We spent our day/night in the field. Thankful for my father in laws help today! ☺️
