It getting dark earlier now—makes me sad. Only a few weeks of flowers left. Plan to visit soon, but not this weekend. We will be celebrating Big E’s BIG birthday and spending time with family. 🎉

But the following weekend? Yes! You better come get ye flowers before they’re taken by old Jack Frost!

I am not happy! 😠 This saddleback caterpillar stung me tonight!

This is the fourth time in my life I’ve been the victim of this critter’s venom. It’s always the same scenario. September. I’m deep in thought, completing a repetitive task. Tonight I was cutting stem after stem of huge hydrangeas to dry for Christmas. Out of nowhere, intense, radiating pain. I knew immediately it was a saddleback.

The sensation is worse than a bee sting because the buggers have a gazillion needles on them. I know now to use duct tape to remove the prongs from my skin and to wash with soap. Not pleasant!

I was timid getting back to task, but I did, and dozens of hydrangeas are harvested and in the workshop to dry. I’ll sell these at Christmas time for a natural—not plastic—way to decorate. First dibs go to wreath workshop participants. One session is sold out. Better nab a spot in the other!

So much is blooming—too much to list.

The best way to start a new school year is with cheery flowers in the kitchen or on a teacher’s desk. Everyone deserves flowers in their life. I like some in my bedroom—first and last thing I see—beautiful!

Merry Bees attracts the NICEST people! So happy to have spent an evening with such lovely folks, doubly happy to know they discovered Merry Bees Creamery Connection 😃

We talked floral design, cut flowers, and arranged them in the workshop. (We talked about a lot of other things too!)

That’s the last scheduled workshop for summer since I return to school on Monday. But flowers keep blooming. If you’d like a private party workshop, I can put you on the calendar!

The you-pick field is still open weekends, 10-4, and I’ll have readymade bouquets and jars of flowers, too!

We will pick flowers in the field and then arrange them in the air-conditioned workshop. It’s a lovely, relaxing evening bonding with Nature.
