Congratulations to our Dad, Mike Gooding, for receiving the Patrick Takasugi Agriculture Leadership Award 2023! Here’s a little background of what led him to receive this accomplishment.

Dad went to Parma High School where he lettered in 4 sports while being a member of the National Honor Society. He was both the Student Council President and President of the Spanish Club. After graduating from Parma as the 1976 class valedictorian he attended the University of Idaho and then later completed his degree at the College of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. The farm then called and he responded.

Since then, our dad has devoted much of his life to agriculture by being involved with the following:

β€’ a board member & executive for nearly 8 years with Hop Growers of America
β€’ 14 years of involvement with Hop Research Council
β€’ Hop Industry Plant Protection Committee (HIPPC) charter member
β€’ 37 years as a member of Idaho Hop Growers Commission & chairman for over 15 years!
β€’ 5th generation hop grower
β€’ 3rd generation awarded international order of the hop

Congrats again Dad & thanks for being a great example of leadership for us girlsπŸ’•πŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸŒΎ
