Excessive heat warning today & tomorrow means extra water checks, especially for the pigs who sometimes get fiesty and up end their water bowl!

The mud adds a layer of insulation that actually helps them stay cool. And the water/mud has to feel good too!

Yes, they have shade as well.

Pigs got a fresh paddock on Saturday. They love the new grass to dig into, but they hate that their wallow building efforts are left behind.

It has been hot & humid, so Pork did the next best thing & sat in the waterer.

Then they decided they had better get busy on new wallows.

Spa day is always a hoot!!

I just had a feeling there would be eggs in the hay. Small ones - new layers! Now to get them laying in the coop...

Silly pigs tipped over their water at some point today so we're very happy to see me during evening chores.

And they enjoyed that I filled up a number of their dry mud pits.

We are watching babies!

This one we took down and grabbed a broody gal. She is doing great with her adopted baby.

We have also hatched two others that are in the house brroder. One of them is a part naked neck! What a little cutie. Very unique.

Still quite a few eggs in the incubator, so we shall see...
