Summer Pullet Sale
This will likely be the last of our chickens that we will have available for a few months while we focus on fruits, veggies, flowers, and family this summer! Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional pictures. Prices are firm unless otherwise noted.
-SOLD One Year Old Hen Pair - $60 for pair
A sweet pair of young hens from our egg laying flock (egg color will be confirmed before pick up, should be one tan layer and one light blue layer).
-Olive Egger Flock (1 roo, 5 hens) - $400 OBO
After lots of consideration, iām offering my Olive Egger breeding flock for sale. We love having colored eggs on the farm, but we are going to focus on breeding our show bird lines from now on. This breeding flock has been carefully selected and blood tested (where needed) for egg color! Our rooster, Freddie, is a sweet handsome boy and is confirmed via blood test that he is an olive egger (carries one copy of the blue egg gene). Four of the hens are true olive eggers with a range of egg color shades and texture between each hen. The last hen is a Crested Cream Legbar that has been blood tested to show she is a homogenous blue egg layer. This flock is one year old (with the exception of the CCL who is 2).
- SOLD Blue Opal pullet pair - $80
A pair of 8+ month old āBlue Opalsā. Our Blue Opal hybrid is designed to be an attractive winter hardy bird that lays pink eggs. These ladies are already laying. They will be the last two Blue Opals available for sale this year, we sold out quick!
-Crested pullets (8) - $25 each
My poorly labeled pullets will be my loss and your gain! These girls are either full blooded Lyonnaise or Lyonnaise/Crested Cream Legbar hybrids (the majority should be the hybrid). Chance of laying either white eggs or a soft blue/green color depending on if they are purebred or a hybrid. The only two things I know for sure about these ladies is that they all have the BEST hairdos and they are all some of the most relaxed birds on the farm!
-Pet Quality Salmon Faverolles pullets (5) - $30 each or $120 for 5
Our early test breedings resulted in a few pullets that donāt make the cut for being keepers for one reason or another. All of their flaws are entirely cosmetic and these ladies should make great pets/egg layers. Salmon Faverolles are known to be ābottom of the pecking orderā birds, so please keep that in mind if you are looking to add them to your mixed flock.
-Khaki Campbell female pair - $60/pair
One year old pet/egg layer quality Khaki Campbell ducks (females). Some cosmetic feather damage from the drakeās spring hormones.
-Jameson (rooster) - $20
We rarely sell roosters here at West Pond Farm since we utilize them in our heritage pasture-raised poultry program (meat), but this guy is an exception. Raised since hatch by a 9 year old boy, Jameson is incredibly friendly to people and is easily a family favorite. The only reason heās available is because we donāt have a flock for him to manage. Iād like to call him an Easter Egger, but I havenāt blood tested him yet to confirm. We would only want him to go to a family where he can be an only rooster, and we would like to buy him back if it does not work out. (Heās really special!)
-Oreo (rooster) - $20
Oreo isnāt as special as Jameson (sorry Oreo!), but heās still an attractive good rooster. I had been saving him for my Fibro Easter Egger breeding pen, but the colored egg projects are being put on the back burner for now. If anyone is working on a similar project, he may be the guy for you! He hasnāt been blood tested yet, but there is a 25-50% chance he is carrying a single copy of the blue egg gene (he hatched from a fibro blue egg layer, covered by an AC rooster). I do have a handful of Fibro EE pullets and hens that could go with him as well to create a breeding group.
