📖 Tuesday Trivia 📖

So, we’ve established that the Bundt pan as we know it was invented back in the 50s by the folks at NordicWare. However, did you know that they hardly sold any of them until 1966?

That’s the year that Ella Helfrich won second place in the Pillsbury Bake-Off with the groundbreaking Tunnel of Fudge Cake. This chocolate cake featured a gooey chocolate center (a precursor to today’s molten lava cakes!) and was made in a mysterious fancy-dancy pan. All of a sudden, everyone had to have one of these new fangled pans.

Ella received $5,000 as a second-place prize, which according to the Googles is equivalent to about $47k today 😳🤑

It’s tomato season, which means it’s tomato and Mayo sammich season!

Now, I love a ripe summer tomato, but I personally believe mayonnaise is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord 🫣

However, this is Maryland and I know it’s useless to try and argue against the tomato/mayo combo. Also, it just so happens that our soft white sandwich bread is the *perfect* foundation for whatever weird sammy you want.
