Pipestone Vineyards

Pipestone Vineyards Pipestone Vineyards is a small winery nestled in our secluded valley in the coastal ranges west of Paso Robles.

Sustainable farming with draft horses! 2008 Green Award Winner! Managed according to the ancient principle of Feng Shui. Pipestone Vineyards and Winery's fruit is Estate Grown on the Westside of Paso Robles, overlooking the Templeton Gap which brings cooling evening ocean breezes to sunny terraced hillsides. Shallow, rocky, calcareous soil, combined with our microclimate, produces wines of intens

e flavor and aroma. Combining Eastern and Western traditions, Jeff Pipes and Florence Wong strive to manage Pipestone Vineyards sustainably and organically. Pipestone Vineyards may be the only vineyard and winery in California managed and built according to the traditional Chinese principals of feng shui (wind and water). Eastern and Western philosophies come together in our understanding of how each decision one makes regarding the land has an effect on many other natural systems. Our wine making follows a traditional European model that strives to show the terroir of our vineyard, showing the best wines that our soil, climate, exposure, and location can produce. Our vineyard is farmed with our team of Draft Horses! We are solar powered, a Certified Wildlife Habitat and have a zero landfill program.

2007 Pipestone RSRW. Recently several folks have told me they have this in their cellar and asked how it's doing. Jeff's tasting notes: Great color that has not faded a bit. Strong young acidity, but more mature tannins. Bright cassis nose, ripe boysenberry, chalky, earth developing with time as the riper fruits yield to tart cherry and raspberry. I'd drink it now or hold for a few more years. Let it breath.
