Running a small business has a way of teaching you things you never quite expect.

Some of them are beautiful.
Some of them are hard.
Most of them live somewhere in between.

This farm has taught us about responsibility, long days, and the quiet weight of decisions. But it’s also shown us the power of community, the kindness of strangers who become friends, and just how much you grow when you build something with your whole heart.

A little honesty from life behind the scenes at the farm.

People keep asking what there is to do at the farm.

Truthfully… a lot of it is slowing down enough to enjoy the little things again.

Finding fresh eggs in the morning.
Feeding the cows.
Coffee outside.
Petting the goats.
Morning walks in the vineyard.
Picking fresh produce from the garden.
Hitting golf balls into the bowl.
Sunset hikes through the oaks.
Games and good old fashioned fun in the barn.

The kind of things that don’t feel very important until you realize how much you needed them.

Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, dirty hands, longer days… and hopefully something good growing by summer.

There’s something really hopeful about planting a garden this time of year.

Sundays tend to move a little differently here.

Coffee outside.
A slow breakfast.
Checking on the garden.
Animals wandering wherever they please.

Nothing overly planned.

Just the kind of day that reminds you to slow down a little.

There’s a shift happening.

People aren’t looking for more, they’re looking for less.
Less noise, less rush, less distraction.

More space. More quiet. More time together.

Your sign to give your pet an extra cuddle today.

Little Girl aka LG has a way of finding the all quiet corners of the farm and any open door or lap - for that matter. She’s independent, doesn't like other cats, thinks she's human, sometimes has some sass, and always wants to be in the middle of a social gathering. She can be a bit bougie, as she loves her morning cream cup (Organic Trader Joe's 1/2 and 1/2 is her favorite). She is our farm kitty and we love her soooooooooo.

This is one of the best times of year to get your summer garden in the ground. Our summer garden has been started months ago as a thoughtful plan. What did we like last year, what did we not, what grew well, what needed to change. We plotted and planned, Chelsey from started the starters and now prepping to put them in our beds. We are very excited to put our new critter cages to use for our Summer season. They did fantastic for the Winter season!

Here’s what we’re planting right now at the farm:

• Tomatoes
• Squash
• Peppers
• Cucumbers
• Basil & summer herbs
• Peas

There’s something special about planting now and knowing these will become part of our menu shared around the table in a few months and filling the larder in fall.
