Now that’s a full Cab Franc fermenter but that was the plan- just kidding actually had to drain some to make it a perfect fit!

Harvest is pretty much in the books, just a few more press loads to go. Crop loads were super light but quality was awesome. A very civilized harvest describes the 2026 season, July 31- September 30 was our picking window. Spread out and organized! Thank you Omar, Símone, Luke & Brenna!

Harvest ‘26 is in and off the vine as of September 30. Amazingly enough the first and last pick were whites from Liz Hastings, Viognier on 7/31 and our estate Kentucky Ranch Vineyard, white field blend on 9/30.

On the last day of picking we also took in Alicante Bouschet, Mencía and Tempranillo as well. This season was not our shortest but by far it was our earliest.

We are excited about the small berries, beautiful concentration and can’t wait to see how these w**e mature.

Good morning Templeton! These photos were taken this morning at our Homestead Hill Estate Vineyard in the Willow Creek District Paso Robles at about 5:30 this morning. We hand picked with the help of a hard working crew about 6 tons of premium Syrah, Zinfandel & Grenache. We are finished picking for the ‘26 season, less than 20% remains on the vines as of today, September 11. We remember. 🇺🇸

While you were sleeping this morning, these hard workers were hand picking our Homestead Hill Cabernet, in the Willow Creek District.

With a forecast of close to 100F today in Paso Robles. California, it’s a really good idea to start before the sun has a chance to heat up the w**e grapes, this prevents early fermentation, preserves colors, flavors and keeps people out of the hot afternoon sun as well.

After our fruit is picked it’s into the fermenters to start the journey to become w**e! Nothing added, just time and technique. The vineyard has done the hard job.

W**e growing is the name of the game and the early bird gets cool grapes, or something like that.

This weekend marks our 18th anniversary! Thacher W**ery in Paso Robles opened the newly constructed tasting room and w**ery to the public Labor Day weekend of 2008 with 350 total cases of ‘04 Coast View Monterey Syrah and ‘04 Je T’aime Paso Robles Zinfandel, and that was it! We had two girls ages 5 and 2, and a boy coming the following month.

We couldn’t have farmed the vineyards and made 21 vintages without the countless lovely people that work with us, the friends that we’ve made along the way, the w**e lovers that appreciate what’s in their glass and the warm Paso w**e community. Thank you everyone, we appreciate your continued support! Cheers to many more! 🍷

Punch down season is upon us and the w**ery smells absolutely amazing! We punch down the fermenters 2-3 times a day to keep the top from drying out, to continue extraction of flavors and colors. We will continue punch downs until the sugars have been fermented and the w**e is ready to be pressed. Come smell and see for yourself, it’s mesmerizing!
