Local, down to the butter. At Jada, supporting Central Coast producers isn’t limited to the main event. Even our picnic bread service brings the story home.

We pair fresh bread with butter from Stepladder Ranch & Creamery, a family-owned farmstead creamery tucked into the coastal hills of Cambria along San Simeon Creek. Their roots in the Central Coast run deep—more than a century ago, butter from the same ranch was traded with local businesses throughout the region.

Today, that tradition of supporting local continues at Jada, where Stepladder butter finds its way to our table via our new picnic program alongside w**es grown here in the Willow Creek District.

Local bread. Local butter. Local w**e. That’s our kind of picnic.

Can you tell it’s harvest here in w**e country? Our days unfold in early morning light and stretch into late nights out on the land. But, we don’t mind. We’re thankful for the abundance this vineyard offers us season after season. Each cluster of grapes carries the whole year within it, the rain, the sun, and the patience. Every pairing begins with the w**e, but it takes a team to finish it.

At Jada, our pairings aren't created by a single palate. They're the result of tasting, conversation, a little experimentation around the table, and, yes, sometimes even a few friendly arguments.

Founder and GM Joshua Messina, who has been pairing w**e at Jada for nearly 20 years, Chef Justin Lewis, our new resident chef, and our team of W**e Educators—including WSET Level 4 Diploma holder Dustin Hannah—each bring a different perspective.

We taste the w**e first. Its structure. Acidity. Texture. Aromatics. How it evolves in the glass. Then the ideas, and debate begin. A little more acid. More texture. Less richness. Something savory. Something unexpected. Sometimes, something completely different to break the rhythm and keep the pairings surprising.

We taste again. Debate. Refine. And occasionally go back to the beginning.

Perched above our estate, the Tree House offers sweeping views across the vines and out to the surrounding hills of Paso Robles' Willow Creek District. It’s the same hillside that's been the heart of Jada since the beginning.

Settle into the Oak Lounge, tucked beneath our heritage oaks with views across the estate vineyard. As the afternoon cools, the fire pits come on and the pace slows down—an easy place to stay a while during a tasting or another glass of w**e.

It starts on a hillside in the Willow Creek District in Paso Robles with 55 acres of organically farmed vines, shaped by the coastal breeze and nutrient-dense soil. Every decision here is deliberate: when to prune, when to pick, how much to ask of the land, and how much to leave alone.

From there, it's patience. The fruit rests in barrel, developing the structure and depth that define our Rhône and Bordeaux w**es.

Then, the moment it's all been for. A glass poured, a first sip, a table full of people who came for w**e and stayed for the experience.

Harvest at Jada isn't constant motion. It's rhythm. Bursts of work followed by moments of stillness, when the crew catches their breath and the vineyard seems to exhale with them.

These aren't breaks from the work. They're part of it, the moments where the people who tend this land get to notice, even briefly, what they've grown.

Harvest is fast. The best parts are often the quiet in between.
