Sorry for an extremely long post. If you read through it, thank you. There is a video in the original post, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch it, share it. It is an excellent video.
For me Black Swan Rec. Center is holy ground, they are family and always will be.
Enter 2024 We were skeptical to put it mildly. We had all heard the same line over and over from a variety of people/groups. In short “they’ll come in early and help out, then they’ll come in get things set up, people will come, they’ll put on an event, people will leave, we will settle up and leave your place looking great” Yeah we’d heard it, too many times to count.
People show up, things look like a circus or nothing really gets set up, there is ZERO RESPECT for the venues or just between the patrons/vendors, things get destroyed, and they either barely made 2cents or they leave while nobody is looking. We had heard it, we had survived it. Yeah we’d were definitely skeptical.
Before SBI arrived we lost Phil very unexpectedly. Everyone who truly knew him was devastated. After speaking with his family and knowing things were going to continue as planned I reached out, for I was the food vendor they didn’t even know they had🫣 (Phil had told them he could have them some food and then Phil called “I got this summer bash thing, they’re gonna have free food and beer/pop/water. Idk if it’s worth your time but”I stopped him “I’ll be there Phil”) anyways they were a lil shocked and nervous about the situation. We spoke some more and came to an agreement.
These Summer Bash Indiana people show up early to help make sure the property was ready and get a game plan laid out, on set up day it was like watching a team play ball, they everything got set up and ready. (For them this was a new venue, they had outgrown their previous venue) People came, but not as many as they had the years prior, still they camped and enjoyed themselves & the camaraderie of others. I think everyone agreed that the new venue was definitely a very nice surprise. But it was a little big for some that were walking from some of the campsites. Summer Bash put on an amazing show head lined by Josey Scott formerly of Saliva😯 Fireworks followed and a bonfire closes out the weekend.
Everyone had an amazing experience, some had the best party of the decade, but there were ZERO conflicts the ENTIRE weekend 🫨 YEAH. And after everyone left Black Swan looked just like it did before anything happened.
We were amazed, someone actually kept their word and everyone respected the property and still had an incredible experience.
2025 came and unfortunately our food trailer wasn’t open but I was still there to help out were needed and take care of Black Swan ice and firewood. Once again Sam, Brandon and their team did their thing, they added personal golf cart rental and a couple shuttle carts to help, the people came still amazed at how spacious yet beautiful the venue was, SBI put together another amazing🤔scratch that, it was a Phenomenal show, everyone had a wonderful experience, heard some amazing performances from some highly talented musicians, headlined by The Native Howl🤯 (very talented guys) after the bands some fireworks and a bonfire🔥
Not 1 single fight or argument, and when everyone left once again the venue was beautiful 😍
2026 a direct repeat of the 2 prior years. Set up goes smoothly, people come(amazed by how beautiful Black Swan always is) they have the best weekend they’ve had while watching live music. This year was headlined by Scotty Austin(former lead singer and front man for Saving Abel) 🤯WoW. Scotty said on stage that he has been trying to get into this grassroots style festival for 5years😲 that’s insane, he is a legit rock star trying to get into Summer Bash Indiana. He said that they kept saying they couldn’t afford to pay his kind of money. He said that he didn’t care what they could afford, that he really wanted to be there.
I love music, all music. I grew up in and around it. As O/O of TailgatersBBQ, traveling 11 states between 2015-2024 I’ve seen lots of festivals and events. And there aren’t any to match the experience and atmosphere at Summer Bash. To me it is sad people don’t know/realize what they are missing by not attending a SBI Event. The atmosphere created can’t be matched, I truly 100% believe that. The hustle these people put into putting this together and to making sure the attendees have a great experience is phenomenal. They truly just want anyone/everyone to be able to come here and experience the best time possible with absolutely zero drama for one weekend in July.
For me now in this moment, Summer Bash Indiana is the family reunion I can’t get enough of.
And boy, oh buddy I cannot wait for SBI 2027 to get here. There was a little bit of info dropped in’25, and a little more info dropped this weekend. I’m not sure how to top phenomenal but it sure is looking spectacular at the moment
IYKYK right😉
