Update: Sorry if we missed anybody this evening. While Eli and I were returning to our beef wagon we came upon a fire on Hwy 49. Our Piedmont Firefighters were spread thin due to another fire. So we helped them.

Part time cooks, part time firefighters 😊

We are back out at CC Hwy today.

We will be cooking until roughly 1:00. We have a funeral to attend and then we will be back to serve some more free grub.

Once again, if affected by the storm, or working the aftermath, please feel free to partake.

Lunch was a success here on CC Hwy. 😊

Still a lot of working taking place down here. If you were impacted by the recent storm or volunteering please feel free to come see us for a free burger or hotdog meal.

Thank you to all the people and businesses that make our relief efforts possible. Honestly, there are so many to mention that we will save that for another post. Just know that your community is grateful for your giving.☺️

’Twas the Night Before Christmas at 4 Arrows Cattle Co.

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the farm,
Not a creature was stirring, no cause for alarm.
The black barn stood silent, the stars shining bright,
While the herd dreamed of grazing in the Arkansas Field’s light.

The stockings were hung in the farmhouse with care,
With hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
Mason and Karissa had called it a night,
While Maggie and Nana kept watch through the night.

The kids were tucked snugly, from oldest to small,
Eli, Ryley, Brooklyn, and Buckley—that’s all!
When out by the river, there arose such a clatter,
Buckley leapt up to see what was the matter.

“C’mon, Callie and Peter!” he whispered with cheer,
The kittens stretched wide, then followed near.
They crept past the horses—Nugget, Red, Beggs, and Bud—
And raced down Charity Lane through the frost and the mud.

The moon lit the pasture, the trees, and Collier Spring,
Making magic of every familiar thing.
And then up the Valley, near the old wire fence,
A sleigh flew above, pulled by cows, what suspense!

With a jolly old cowboy holding the reins tight,
Buckley knew in an instant this was St. Nick’s night.
More nimble than deer, his Angus team flew,
And he hollered out names as he called for the crew:

“Now Rosie! Now Daisy! Now Twitch and Bodini!
We’ll fly through the valley as fast as Houdini!
To the top of the barn! To the Valley below,
Now race to the black barn through frost and through snow!”

As hay bales will tumble when the winds start to howl,
The Angus herd leapt, with a thunderous growl.
To the roof of the barn, the sleigh shot like a stream,
With St. Nicholas riding his bovine-powered team.

And then, in a twinkling, Buckley heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each Angus hoof.
Nana barked loudly, and Maggie joined in,
While Buckley crept closer, holding his grin.

Down through the chimney St. Nicholas came,
His boots caked with dust, his hat showing the same.
He was dressed in old denim, patched up and worn,
Like a farmer who’d worked from the day he was born.

His eyes—they twinkled, his smile was merry,
His beard was as white as a fresh winter dairy.
His sack overflowed with gifts and delights,
Perfect for a family that works farm-filled nights.

He left gifts for Mason: new tools for the shop,
For Karissa, a journal where dreams never stop.
For Eli, a rope, to practice his aim,
And for Ryley, warm gloves to wear in the game.

For Brooklyn, a camera to capture the view,
Of the Valley, the River, and Collier Spring too.
And Buckley received boots, so rugged and strong,
For climbing Lime piles and adventuring along.

For Maggie and Nana, a treat-filled surprise,
And for the kittens, soft blankets for cozy cat lies.
Nugget, Beggs, Red, and Bud got hay stacked just right,
Perfect for feasting on a cold winter’s night.

He laid on the table a feast to admire,
Farm-raised beef for the family to enjoy by the fire:
Ground beef for the chili, a roast that will please,
Steaks and a brisket to bring joy with ease!

St. Nick tipped his hat and then turned with a bound,
Climbed into his sleigh, and whistled around.
Up the Valley he flew, with a holler of cheer,
“Good grazing, 4 Arrows—I’ll see you next year!”

And as he soared past the St. Francis River so wide,
His voice echoed softly across the countryside:
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

Merry Christmas Eve from our AI experiment tonight 😂 This made our jaws drop and we just had to share!! Hope you got a kick and a chuckle out of it like we did!

We pray you enjoy your families tomorrow! 🎄

Family Farm United

ERB Livestock has come a fair piece since its founding in May 2017. Consisting of primarily Black Angus and Red Angus, ERB has been able to make their mark in the Southeastern Missouri Region. Starting with a smaller herd and growing is the dream of many cattle farmers out there, however it takes time, determination, and A LOT of hours. With a large cattle purchase in late 2017, and an even larger purchase in 2018, ERB is maintaining near 400 Cows along with 15 bulls and many calves. Slowing down is not in the cards.

ERB Livestock is a family run operation. ERB (Eli, Ryley, and Brooklyn) are our bundles of joy that keep us going. Between the cattle, couple dogs, and a group of 35 laying hens we never seem to find a dull moment.

Although 2020 has been a year to remember in some negative regards, it has been a turning point for ERB Livestock in a couple ways. First, we have added into our operation the MFA Health Track Program. We are provided hands on help with cattle along with a wealth of knowledge from our MFA Rep and MFA Nutritionist. Secondly, we have added a BEEF selling program offering sales of 1/4’s, 1/2’s, and whole Beefs. There is not a better burger or steak than that of which comes straight off the farm.

We would love to hear from you. Reach out to us anytime and grow with us!
