We interviewed one of the breed’s longtime cattlewomen to hear her stories, experiences, and perspective from decades spent raising cattle and supporting the Beefmaster community. Stay tuned as we share her answers and celebrate the legacy she continues to build.

⭐️ What’s one lesson cattle have taught you that younger generations could benefit from hearing today?

Hard work and perseverance are important. Things don’t always go the way you planned, and that’s just real life. You can have all the best intentions and still have a hard year. But if you stay committed to what you’re doing and you learn from every experience, good or bad, that’s worth more than any book you could read. Experience is a teacher that never stops. You just have to be willing to show up every day and do the work, even when it’s hard.

⭐️ Tell us about your daily routine checking cows and calves, what keeps you motivated to still be out there every day?

I wake up every morning grateful that I can still go. Getting out there and checking for Beefmaster babies, there’s nothing quite like it. I love looking at these cattle, I always have. At 84, getting to go out and see all of God’s other creations out there, the birds, the morning light, everything waking up, that is a true gift every single day. I check fences, help work cattle when they need me. I get on my Kubota and just go. As long as I’m able to do it, I’m going to do it.

We sre pretty excited about this Polled Pl***oy heifer!!!! She is right at 2 months old and her dam Buttram 226 is doing a nice job with her!!!!

We are excited to see Brand New Man calves. He’s been busy at the ranch breeding cattle and we will be collecting semen soon. This is one outstanding Polled Beefmaster Bull we purchased from Randy Mason. Keep your EYES on this one.
