Model Farm Stables

Model Farm Stables Established in 1977, Model Farm Stables offers weekly riding lessons for all ages , beginners through advanced riders. Boarding also available. Cost is $200

Model Farm Stables was started by Denise(Double) Blakely and her parents, Bill & Dorothy Double, 3 horses in the fall of 1976 with plans to start a horse boarding business. The Doubles are originally from England and named their stable after Model Farm(now known as Easton Farm Park)in southwest England where Dorothy spent her childhood. Easton Farm Park is now open to the public and houses a large

collection of farm animals, early farm machinery and is well known for the Suffolk Punch, a heavy horse used for farming dating back to the 1700's. After repairing many of the outbuildings, the first boarder arrived in the spring of 1977 with riding lessons beginning in 1978. After a couple years the farm became a full time venture and now includes an indoor arena, round pen, outdoor riding track, dressage arena and around 20 or more horses. Model Farm Stables has provided riding lessons for over 800 students aged 7 to 74. The stables are known for reasonable rates and emphasis on safety. All riding disciplines are welcomed, but English is the primary style since this teaches balance. Lessons also include groundwork/lunging and other horsemanship skills which is just as important as riding. Classes are $20.00/hr group. A summer camp is also offered on the 3rd full week of each August. Horse boarding is $300/month. Including the use of all facilities, hay three times a day and daily cleaning of corrals and stalls. Model Farm is also known for good quality horse hay. Catering to the backyard horse owner, small square bales for convenience are available. Alfalfa and soft grass..which is great for the senior horse. Call for prices and availability. "HORSES TEACH AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF PATIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY, THESE ABILITIES WILL HELP CHILDREN IN OTHER ASPECTS OF THEIR LIFE AS THEY GROW UP"

Spreading the word for Lindsay. Her and her husband Jake are having a wedding reception/party here at the farm this Saturday at 5. We won't let the weather "dampen" the spirits! Tent will be up and DJ in the barn. Refreshments as well. Perhaps some of you have ridden with Lindsay here as she's been with me for several years! Come help them celebrate!

Its been perfect weather for riding! And it looks like it'll extend into October🙂
