Do you feel lucky?
On Friday, Brazil confirmed two and possible third case of BSE, aka Mad Cow Disease.
China immediately suspended beef imports from Brazil.
Why?
BSE kills people who eat meat from infected animals.
The first six months of 2021, the USA imported 137.6 million pounds of beef from Brazil for human consumption.
How much of it did you eat?
You don't know because meat packages sold in the USA are not required to have Country of Origin Labeling (COOL). That is because money is more important to our government than your health.
Don't you wish you could look at the packages of meat in your refrigerator and at the grocery store to see what country that meat was raised?
Maybe it is time to contact your Congressman and Senators about COOL. Trust me, they know what COOL is, because they voted to repeal COOL on 18 December 2015.
