Today, Livv and her mom came by and gave Tina a much-needed bath! On a hot and humid day, what could be better than playing in the hose and helping a horse cool off and get cleaned up?
A special shoutout to Livv for being such an enthusiastic farm visitor. She’s always eager to help and loves caring for the animals.
Tina certainly enjoyed her spa day and looks like a completely different horse after her bath! 🐴💦☀️

A day in the life of an emu owner...
Robin takes it upon himself to make sure my days are never lacking in responsibility or worry. I wish I could see this giant bird happily bathing in a mud puddle and not immediately start imagining every possible disaster that could follow.
Instead, all I can picture is myself knee-deep in mud, rope in hand, trying to drag this big feathered buffoon out of whatever trouble he's managed to get himself into this time. So instead of enjoying the moment, I sit and wait. Because experience has taught me that if Robin appears to be behaving himself, he's probably just in the planning stages of his next disaster. All went well this time… 😂😂😂 life

I don’t know if Jacky’s head suddenly doubled in size, but his normal halter no longer fits him. Enjoy him rocking this spare halter that’s WAYYY too loose on him (hard to tell in these pics, but it was basically sliding down his neck 😂😂).
We had to make do for his farrier appointment. I wish it fit him better because he looks so handsome in it. New halter photoshoot coming soon… once we get one that actually fits. 🤣 🫏

As May comes to an end, I’d like to wish a happy birthday to our sweet Parfait. Our girl turned 30 last week! It’s such a blessing to grow up alongside an animal. Parfait is five years older than me, and sometimes it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that she’s been on this earth longer than I have.
Every day, I’m so grateful to care for her and watch her slowly turn white with age. To the old lady who falls asleep during the farrier visit, whose forelock is made up of three strands of hair, and who needs all her food soaked and mashed because she barely has any teeth here’s to a long, beautiful life and many more years to come! 🐎 🎉 🎁 3️⃣0️⃣

The new girls (and at least one boy) got their bracelets put on yesterday. Every year, I color-code my birds’ bracelets so I can tell how old everyone is and keep track of them. This year’s color is purple, and I think it looks quite nice on them! 🐔 💜
