At Tomato Mountain, our produce comes in all colors, shapes, and sizes, and so do our employees, members, and community.
This Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the beautiful diversity that exists throughout nature and humanity. While Pride is a time of celebration, for many people, being who they are is a lifelong journey, just as our fruits and vegetables grow naturally into their own unique forms.

Our mission has always been rooted in supporting what is real: whole foods, clean ingredients, small farms, and thriving local communities. We believe in honoring things as they are meant to be, without unnecessary additives, shortcuts, or artificial standards.
Nature reminds us that diversity isn’t an exception, it’s the rule!

We hope this month has given you an opportunity to connect with yourself, your community, and the bigger picture of what it means to care for one another and the world around us. Happy Pride! We love and support our LGBTQ+ community.🌈🍅

Nature is colorful, diverse, and
beautiful and so are you.

Get a sneak peek at the green garlic scapes that will be featured in your boxes next week, fresh from Tomato Mountain’s farm to your table 🧄🌿

Listen to the soundtrack of the farm with our beautiful songbirds in the background while Israel takes us through the garlic fields and shows some of the work that goes into maintaining and hand-weeding our garlic crop.

There’s a lot of care behind every harvest, and we’re excited to share a little glimpse of farm life with you. Psssst Southwest produce is also bringing in that early garlic, so we will be dropping in our favorite allium!

Cooking lamb legs can feel intimidating, but here’s a foolproof way to make it tender, juicy, and full of flavor: marinate in full-fat yogurt! 🐑

The lactic acid naturally tenderizes while letting spices and herbs shine. Add garlic, fresh herbs, cumin, coriander, and a touch of citrus, then let it marinate for up to 12 hours.

This week’s box features Wild Coyote Farm lamb leg, loin and sirloin chops, rib racks, and ground lamb! These are all pasture-raised on certified organic or transitional pastures. Roast the lamb covered with foil low & slow for 4–6 hours at (275–300°F) to an internal temperature of 195°F. Remove the foil and turn up the heat for a quick char at the end then roughly chop. It’ll fall apart perfectly! Serve with warm pita, tzatziki, and crisp vegetables, or try taco, Indian, or Middle Eastern flavors.

How are you preparing your lamb?

Warmer, longer days are giving our spinach crops their final moment to shine 🌱

We’ll only have this nutrient-dense green around for another month or so, and we’re especially grateful for how it’s carried us through the long winter and early spring, keeping things fresh and vibrant until it’s time to pass the baton to late spring and summer greens.

Spinach is incredibly versatile (you can toss it into just about anything for an easy greens boost!), but one of our staff favorite ways to enjoy it is simple: place a handful of fresh, uncooked spinach at the bottom of your bowl and pour hot soup over it. The result? A lightly wilted, earthy crunch that adds both flavor and texture to your meal.

Celebrate the spring equinox properly with a leafy green💚

Get stacked up w Buckwheat and Kernza pancake mixes from the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute! 🥞 ✨They offer a delicious way to enjoy a more nutrient-dense and thoughtfully sourced breakfast.

Buckwheat is naturally gluten-free and known for its rich, earthy flavor. It’s a good source of fiber and plant-based nutrients, making it a satisfying option that helps keep you full longer. It also works well as a versatile base for both sweet and savory toppings.

Kernza is a newer, regenerative grain being developed and supported through research at the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute. As a perennial crop, it doesn’t need to be replanted each year. Its deep root system, reaching up to 10 feet, helps prevent soil erosion, improve soil health, and support more sustainable farming practices over time.

Both grains bring unique flavor profiles to the table, creating pancakes with a slightly nutty, rich taste that pairs well with fruit, yogurt, nuts, or syrup.

Be sure to check out these new items in your box this week and give them a try.
