One thing we’ve always been proud of is keeping our community fridge a place where neighbors can access food with dignity and without feeling judged. That has always been, and will continue to be, our goal.

Unfortunately, we’ve recently had a few situations where security camera footage had to be reviewed due to vandalism and other incidents. Because of this, you’ll notice new signs on the fridge stating that the area is under video surveillance.

We want to be very clear about what that means: the cameras are not there to monitor or judge people who are taking food. If you’re using the fridge respectfully and taking what you need, please know that you are always welcome. We do not review footage to see who is using the fridge, and we remain committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of our neighbors.

The cameras are simply there to help us protect the fridge, the donations, and the volunteers who work so hard to keep it stocked for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this project with kindness, donations, and respect. Together, we can keep this resource safe and available for those who need it most. 💚
