Update: the position has been filled; thanks to those who expressed interest!

We’re looking for part-time help with horse chores at our farm in Pedee (18 miles south of Dallas, Oregon). Stall cleaning, feeding, turnout, etc. Previous experience with horses a plus, but not required.

Applicants need to:
Be at least 16 years old
Have reliable transportation
Be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
Have clothing and footwear suitable for work outside in all weather
Be dependable and trustworthy

$16.00-17.50/hour, depending on experience.

Work schedule is flexible, but needs to be consistent (i.e. same schedule every week).

Opportunity for additional hours helping with other farm tasks.

Electric vehicle charging (level 2) provided as a benefit to employees.

Looking for a short-term job in a beautiful rural setting (with sweet Clydesdale horses to pet)?

Boulder's Farm is in need of a helper for our barn construction project, sawmill operation, and other farm tasks for the next 3-4 months.

30-40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.
Our work is outdoors in all weather.
Must be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs. to waist height.
Must be comfortable working on a ladder.
Must have reliable transportation (we have a level 2 EV charging station, if that helps).

Firewood for sale!

Each crate in the photo holds about ¼ cord

Douglas-fir scrap from our sawmill, cut to 15-16 inches. Thickness is mostly ¾ to 1-½” with some thicker and thinner pieces.

It has been drying all summer (or longer) and is ready to burn. Great for kindling, warming fires, or backyard campfires.

We will load your truck or trailer ($50 deposit per crate, refundable when you return it in usable condition), or you can load it yourself by hand and not have to pay the deposit.

Thanks for supporting a local, family-owned, sustainable forest.

Ma Heggen’s Farmhouse Coleslaw

Ingredients:

About 1/2 head of green, finely shredded or chopped
1/4 cup of thinly sliced onion
I medium carrot, shredded
3 stalks of celery, finely sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar (wine, cider, white)
1 teaspoon mustard (any type, I use Dijon usually)
1 teaspoon celery seed
! teaspoon dried dill w**d (optional)
About 1/3 cup of sour cream
About 1/3 cup of mayonnaise
About 1/4-1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley

Method:

Combine the prepared vegetables in a large mixing bowl.

To make the dressing, combine the sugar, salt, vinegar, mustard, celery seed, and dill w**ds. Stir in the sour cream and mayonnaise and blend well. Mix the dressing with the vegetables. Chill for at least an hour. Just before serving, sprinkle with parsley and stir to combine.
