Well, it's time to call it again. The blackberries we have just aren't ripening. We didn't have a lot, because most of the plants are only two years old. But we are frustrated... and so sorry to let our customers down. We appreciate your patience and support. Cross your fingers for next year.

We were hoping to make it through the week, but we've decided that blueberry season is done. The birds and deer on Inlow Avenue have eaten pretty well the last few days! There just aren't many berries left and, besides, it's just too dang hot to get out there to pick!

From the bottom of our hearts, we'd like to sincerely thank all of our customers who have supported our farm this season! We love sharing our berries and the picking experience with you all! We're already looking forward to blackberry season! Follow us on FB and watch us continue to grow!

We're still open! We'll be around from 9 to 4 this week, as long as the berries hold out! BUT, the birds are robbing more and more of our berries, so if you want them, don't delay!

With the heat forecast for this week, Rick will be taking lots of breaks in the air conditioning. If you want to pick, give him a call at 937.509.1327 and he'll be right there. Stay safe with the heat levels we'll have this week. Please like and share this post to help us get the word out. Thank you for supporting our farm business!

We'd like to thank everyone for their kind words and support this past week. The sheriff's office let us know that they located the truck (considerably damaged) and that the owner reported that it must have been stolen. Of course, there was no insurance on the owner's part, so that turned out to be a dead end.

We think that most of the steel posts that the truck took down are salvageable, especially if we piece together undamaged pieces. Now it is a matter of rebuilding, but at least it won't be nearly as expensive as we first thought. And lucky us! It looks like the blackberry plants will survive, with the exception of just a few! What a blessing!

On a positive note, the blackberry plants in that field are babies. We planted over 1000 new plants this summer, so in 3 to 4 years, we'll be picking off that field again. That makes us smile! 💜

First, we'd like to apologize to our loyal customers for not opening for blackberries. We had tons of berries, but they never ripened. They are still red on the vines. From our understanding, after consulting with several professionals, we can blame this on the weather. We know that other berry growers have experienced the same result this year.

Second, we'd like to share what happened Wednesday evening. A white Ford truck decided to take a drive through our berry patch. The truck suffered major damages, so his joyride bit him in the butt. If anyone knows anything about this truck, please call the Adams County Sheriff's Department. We would like to thank the Sheriff's office and the Peebles Police Department for their response last night.

By our estimation, we are looking at about $15,000 in damages. We do carry insurance, but they are indicating that this kind of damage is most likely not covered. Go figure. Our hearts are aching right now. It's difficult and depressing when you put so much of yourself into a business, only to have things like this happen.
