The traditional Chicha Morada beverage is a staple of Peruvian culture, whose consumption can be traced back to the Incan Empire. In Peru, the beverage can be found commercially just about anywhere - from local bodegas to restaurants to large, chain supermarkets.
But if you’re lucky, your mom will make big batches at home for special occasions based on unique family recipes. When a pot of Chicha is simmering on the stove, you know your cousins are on their way, music and dancing are sure to follow.
