Here are 7 exciting “Did You Know?” facts about Emus!

🏃‍♂️ Emus can run up to 30 MPH! Their long legs and powerful stride make them incredibly fast runners.

👀 They have amazing eyesight! Emus can spot predators from a long distance and have excellent hearing too.

🥚 Their eggs are HUGE! An emu egg can weigh around 1–1.5 pounds and has a beautiful dark green color.

👨‍👧 Dad does the parenting! Male emus incubate the eggs for about 8 weeks and take care of the chicks after they hatch. During this time, the dad barely eats or drinks!

🦶 Emus have 3 toes on each foot. Those powerful feet can deliver a serious kick if an emu feels threatened.

🪶 Emus can't fly—but they can swim! Despite their size, emus are surprisingly good swimmers and can cross rivers when necessary.

🧠 They're smarter than you might think! Emus are curious, social birds that can recognize familiar people and learn from their surroundings.

Bonus fun fact: 🪶 Emus have two sets of eyelids—one for blinking and another that works like protective goggles to shield their eyes from dust!

Turkeys are so much more than a Thanksgiving centerpiece! ❤️

They’re intelligent, social, and expressive. They recognize familiar faces, communicate with different sounds, form bonds, and even change the color of their heads and necks with their emotions.

And yes… some turkeys can fly! 😄

Oh my goodness, how exciting! 🥰🐐 Another baby goat has arrived! 😉💗 What a sweet surprise when Scott, Teresa, and I all walked out to check on the goats.

🐐💕 It’s a girl—I checked! She is adorable. 😉 We also had to check on the other baby goats, and they are all doing great!

Such a fun surprise and another sweet little addition to the ranch! 💕🐐

We are looking to downsize since our fantails have hatched LOTS of babies this season! ❤️

And just like that, we are back in the quail business! 🐦❤️ So far, we have had 6 Texas A&M quail hatch, and I just had to share how cute and tiny they are! 😍

They are already keeping us entertained! We aren’t selling any just yet, but give it a little time…we’ll have some available! 🐣❤️
