The holiday weekend is almost here! Come on out to market and let us supply the meat!

We are stocked back up on plenty of beef, ground beef, steaks, roasts! Don't forget some kielbasa for the grill as well!
We also have ground goat back in stock! Make some delicious goat burgers! Yum!

Did you hear that every Thursday the Leeds farmers market is happening? Stock up on various cuts of our delicious ,farm fresh, pasture raised beef, pork, chicken, goat and lamb, as well as eggs. We will also have a couple extra jars of pet milk.(This week)

This little guy, was born last night, gave us a little scare. A little look into the life of a farmer.
Usually after you see feet , mamma cow should deliver within about a half hour. I went down to check on Tiger a few min later to see how all was progressing and saw the baby hanging limp, then fall limp on the ground, not breathing, eyes closed. Thankfully I was close (or we probably would have lost him) and was able to run over (major adrenaline ) and pull mucus from his nose and mouth, rub him push and finally he started breathing. However it was still pretty ragged, and not good. So then I did the farmer swing, swing him around by the hind feet to get the mucus to fling out. Katie then came down and helped me swing him again. (This is a 50-75lb calf) He started breathing better and quickly became more lively. And then about 20 min later was already standing up, looking for milk! Feisty little guy!
Thankfully I was there, but of course Ben was not there, taking a pig to the processor, but helping via phone. You never know what happens next on a farm . But no matter how many times I see a new calf born, I never get tired of it. There's something so peaceful and special about new life and being with God's creation. I just sat down on a log and watched for a while. Then when Ben came home we walked them both up to the barn.
But next time you drink the delicious glass of raw milk, it's not just milking work that goes into it, it's lots of other hard work and sometimes it doesn't end well like yesterday did. But it's life and it's beautiful! Thank you for supporting us and letting us provide healthy milk and meat for you and love this life! -Bethany

It's spring-Apple trees are blooming, calves are being born and everything is green (and yellow 😷) it also means market starts up! Trussville Farmers market will start back up, this sat, April 4 from 8-12, and continue through Thanksgiving! Come out and see us, right next to Trussville Ace Hardware!

Last week we took a nice break and reset before the busy summer and market season began. We spent time in the DC area. We went to the Museum of the Bible and saw some of the Dead Sea scrolls, which was amazing. We visited the National Archives, Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Katie's favorite, a capital tour with our Senator's office as well as senate gallery passes and was able to watch a vote happen. We also visited many of the monuments and highlights of the city, including one day on scooters, covering much ground!
