We’ve made the decision to be done with farmers market for the year, but that doesn’t mean the farm stops producing!

🥚 We have several dozen eggs available at $3/dozen

Can be delivered to Osky/Pella on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, but they are washed and refrigerated, so you must be present at time of delivery to ensure they get back into a fridge in a timely manner.

We will not be at market today. Hoping to make it to at least one more market this summer, just not sure yet which one(s) will end up working for our schedule.

We’ve gotten busier as we move into homeschool season here on the homestead. Happy first week of school!

☀️ It’s a beautiful day to be back at the market!

We’ve gathered a bit of a reputation for having some unique produce - orange cauliflower, purple beans, yellow raspberries, and something uncommon you’ll see at our table this time of year is okra!

Okra is frequently used in southern and Asian cuisine and is loaded with good vitamins and fiber. At this point in the growing season, we’re harvesting 1-2 pods per plant per day.

Our freezer stash of okra is full and ready for a winter of dishes like jambalaya and stir fry, so everything we’ve picked the last few days is coming with me to market - try something new today!

☀️ Also coming to market today - fall raspberries, garlic, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggs, soap, and the usual other handmade items.

❄️That might mean filling your freezer with local raised meat, fresh produce, baked goods or other goodies to enjoy later.

🎁But it can also mean getting ahead on gifts, stocking up on handmade goods, picking up garden supplies for next season or simply buying something now that you will be glad to have later.

❄️We plan to have a USDA freezer tips that you can grab.

🌺August is for enjoying the harvest. January is for being thankful you froze some of it!
