Our colored Boer Goats don't just happen, they're designed! We've been raising red and paint Boer Goats since 1997 when our daughters fell in love with a red Fullblood doe. Since then we've added spotted Boer goats. We also raise Miniature Hereford cattle.

The Midwest Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association held a show this weekend in Montpelier, OH at the Williams County Fairgrounds. Kent co-judged some really beautiful animals! You really have to love the commitment these breeders have taking care of the hair coats on these goats. He's been judging them for quite a few years now and we always appreciate the invitation.

Another fair under our belts! We drove to Rockford, IL so that Kent could judge the Boone County Fair in Illinois on Saturday. He judged their junior goat show along with an ABGA Boer goat show, and Myotonic goats. Thank you Betsy Hyland Muehleip for inviting him to judge! We always enjoy our time there. I almost didn't make it back to watch the show because I found the draft horses! Oh, and driving there I think we found his homeland!

We attended the Butler County Farm Show in Pennsylvania where Kent judged the Junior Market and Breeding goat show. It was a rainy day but that didn't stop everyone from having a good time showing! We took our granddaughter Mayson. Her and I did a lot of walking to visit the other barns. I don't always remember to get pictures, but I did get the one where she just wanted to bond with the pigs. And then it was back to watch grandpa judge where she gave him a thumbs up and told him he was doing a great job!

Kent and I headed to Walla Walla Washington about a week ago so he could judge the Cascade Boer Goat Association Harvest Classic Boer Goat Show. He judged the junior wethers and showmanship in the morning and then judged a concurrent ABGA show with fellow judge Ron Dilley; sorting through some tough classes of outstanding goats. Thanks for inviting him! I tagged along and we spent a few extra days traveling west from Seattle to the Pacific Ocean and than heading east to Walla Walla, and then heading back to Seattle after the show to fly home.
