So Glad to have Elder Perry and Elder Church out in the hives on Tuesday. We had a great time and I’m so glad that y’all were very hands on. When beekeepers have other people come in and get to experience beekeeping, it definitely makes us happy! Beekeeping is definitely not something you imagine you’d participate in on your mission is it? Elder Perry it’s been great knowing you and we appreciate your service as a Missionary! Good luck in your future endeavors! It was great meeting you Elder Church and I hope the rest of your mission treats you well! Great having y’all in the apiary!

Happy Thanksgiving from Diamond Falls Apiary!!!

The last 2 days consist of Leveling the hives which included leveling the ground for Cinder blocks and Moving the Hives off of the ground on the created level surface.

Sweat ✅
Yellow Jackets (Only 2 or 3) ✅
Inspections on both Hives ✅
A fight between 2 Honey Bees (Winner Undetermined) ✅
Caffeine ✅
Difficulties Keeping Smoker Lit ✅
Honey Bee and Yellow Jacket Stings ❌

Very Thankful this project is over with and maybe a few more like this once we obtain more Hives but this will do for now. Also Very thankful the Bees let me level the cinder blocks without wearing a beekeepers suit.

When you see something like this, don't be afraid, don't call the firefighters or the police, don't move and don't kill them.
These are just bees traveling and stopping for just 24 hours.
If you want to help, put a flat plate or tray with some sugar water.
Bees will eat, gain energy and fly away.
