As the holidays approach, we’re gathering the gifts the land offers most generously, such as wildcrafted soaps, restorative salves, and seaweed for spa days at home. Each is grown, harvested, and crafted with care here at Smithereen Farm, rooted in the beauty and resilience of this place.
Our shelves will not stay full through winter, so now is the time to bring these offerings home... or send them on to those you love!

This Seaweed Bath is the perfect way to welcome in the colder months. We love bathing in seaweed, either off the tip of our peninsula or after the sauna in the shade of the apple trees. We made this bath kit so that you, too, can benefit from the healing properties of our native seaweeds. Boil hot water and brew a large batch of tea while drawing the bath. Bring the tea and the pouch to the bath, and relax!

Smithereen Farm is pleased to join Steelbow Farm and Stissing House feast crew for a day of family fun at the pumpkin patch on Sunday, October 4th. We will be there with bells on and a full table of Maine farm goodies to sell (seaweeds, sea scrub, wild blueberry topping, wild “Bixa Fixa” salve, vinegar, seaweed sprinkles, New Farmer’s Almanacs, and more) and with Rachel Alexandrou and a few other girlfriends in the mix, plus babies of course!

Weather depending, we will either be at the Steelbow pumpkin patch or indoors at Stissing House. Either way, find us with a full panoply of Smithereen products, Almanacs, Alga-Pop (our newest product!) and a brand new sea scrub for armpits & lympho-powerhouse clean ups.

We’ll also be traveling with and supported by Rachel Alexandrou who will lead a forage-type activity during the event.

We’re joining Stissing House And Steelbow Farm for a PUMPKIN HOP on Sunday, October 4. We will create magic on the farm as we celebrate all things fall & PUMPKIN. Expect an afternoon of fun for the kiddos, pumpkin soup and donuts, and first pick of their pumpkin patch to decorate your doorstep. Come for the games, food, music, and drink, and stay a while to take in the views. Tickets for all (including wee ones) at the link in our bio!

Time to stock up on your bread, root veggies and frozen soups! It’s feeling like fall out here and the Farmstore’s last day is coming right up on September 30. But we’ve still got tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, potatoes, leeks, onions, garlic, herbs, apples, pears… plus discounts on pantry staples!
